So they called me back and said the spark plug coils had failed and the valves need adjustment (they were evidently too tight). It was within our price range to fix so I said to go ahead and do it.
I looked up symptoms of spark plug coil failures and one of them is 'can cause engine to stall' along with a 'rough idle' (which my car definitely had at times), so... here's hoping.

Our Hyundai had spark plug coil failure before and it resulted in rough idle and loss of power under acceleration. Hopefully it fixes your problem!
Yeah it would be super nice to be able to just get going once I get in the car. Like 5 mins warming up isn’t the worst, but what if I didn’t have to do that?

Oh yeah if the coils are dying you'll get rough running, definitely.
I'm probably an odd duck but I've always liked my 4door cars better than my 2door ones. Bachelor, no kids.

Something about just tossing groceries or whatever in the back seat is great.
It all depends on what it was designed to be. You can make a 4 door car look good, but you really can't make a 2 door car look good with two more doors.
Cannot find my original post but got some Pirelli P Zero's for the daily driver and about 300 miles with them so far and I like them. Not as much noise as the pilot cups not as sticky though. With 4WD though its not a huge deal and I like the comfort. Still waiting on my cup 2's for the ACR.

Replaced clutch master (omfg this was worse than pulling a cylinder head) and slave. Pedal travel is varying slightly when it engages the flywheel. That's likely still air in the line, right?

Likely. How is the pedal pivot, any slop in the bushings? The rod that goes into the master cylinder is seated correctly and there's no slop in the pivot? Same for the clutch fork? And the flexible lines are all in good shape and not ballooning anywhere?
If yeah, then get back under the car and bleed that sucker again. If you've got a pressure bleeder (or can knock one up), reverse bleeding from the slave to the master is much easier, the air naturally wants to travel upwards.

I've got no trick toys for it so I'll have to do it the fun way. Everything else is fairly tight though I managed to bend a hard line pulling the master. Thanks Honda.

Can you get a large syringe and some hose? Boom, pressure bleeder. Also I hope that hard line isn't creased or cracked!
I hate gizmos and am sad that my insurance rates are more than doubling though =/
I was just looking at these on-line, as it ticks a number of my boxes, especially the GT ("N" if I could afford it). I'd love to hear your thoughts.
As much as I hate to say it, I'm the last person anyone should ask for car advice, but I'll do my best
It accelerated well and got to 60mph at what I feel is an acceptable time. It was comfortable to sit in. ummm
I only drove 10 or 15 miles, so I can't say too much about the gas mileage. It handled as well as any car I've ever owned (2000 focus, may it burn in hell, and a 2004 saturn ion may a flight of angles sing it to its rest).

Is the Yaris GR being sold worldwide or is it JDM?
We're getting it here in Australia. 1.5 three cylinder turbo, AWD with front and read LSDs, people are guessing around the $50k mark (a BRZ is $38k, a WRX STI is $58k).

So my cars locks and latches have been sticking. Just hit them with a 3 in 1 graphite spray and holy shit, its like they're brand new.
Yeah if I’m buying a Porsche, you’ll be sure I want the one that the engine barely fits in the space allotted, thank you.

Here the base model of the Cayman is about $135k. If I'm spending that much money, I'm not buying a 4 cylinder model which gets thrashed by a Golf which costs less than half as much. I'm buying something else from a different brand. A Lotus Elise Cup 250 is ~$110k on the road and will walk a base model Cayman anywhere, any time. Plus it's a much more interesting car, way rarer, and far fewer lawyers wives drive them. If I want something meaner, the Exige Sport 350 is ~$140k, and the Sport 410 is ~$165k if you'd rather forget about Caymans altogether and go embarass some 911s at track days.

now the brakes emit a very synthetic high pitched drone while gently decelerating at low speed, wondering maybe if that's just new-pad-sound

I'd give it a few days or maybe a week tops and if you still hear it, take it back and have them do it right.

Looks like the new GT 500 is pretty insane.
