also since the dub isn’t on crunchyroll i watched the whole thing subbed and i grew to appreciate the japanese voices even though this is a rare anime that i had mostly only watched dubbed
He's a little shit though so it's still very satisfying watching him job.
I kinda felt like he didn't job in the ToP. He took a lot of people out and was instrumental to their strategy in taking out two of the strongest assholes in the whole thing.
And he also tanked the Hakai energy like it wasn't shit.

Watching that clip they seem to have put him in the Worf role, where he's the strongest one there is, so the new super character destroys him to show how strong that character is.
I think they at least did him right having him hold out against Broly and not be at all worried he is still out there, but Frieza is very intelligent and it would've been nice to see him using some kind of tactics in that fight instead of just powering up.

He sneakily survived Broly way longer than Goku or Vegeta was able to, and Vegeta’s rant at the beginning of the movie sold me on Frieza as an ever present threat.
Besides what makes Frieza great as a villian is that he revels in punching down, since that’s all he’s done his entire life.
He’s the purest personification of a Bully. He won’t pick a fight he doesn’t feel like he can win handily, and is passive until he knows he has the upper hand.

The Broly movie has Vegeta sweating over the idea that Freeza's goign to decide to train any additional amount more than "not at all" before returning to kill both him and Goku, and that they won't be able to stop it
Given that he went from his original strength to "able to finger flick Majin Buu into oblivion" in the space of three months, if they want Freeza to flex then he certainly could. Hell, if the Broly arc gets adapted into the anime, I suspect he actually might

Vegeta is a very typical rich boy who was born into power. He would likely berate all the other saiyans for not pulling themselves up by their bootstraps enough to beat Frieza themselves, like he did, who obviously worked for everything (he didn’t) and never took a handout from anyone (he did)

Can I say that I personally prefer it when Vegeta was drawn as a very, very short man with very, very tiny limbs instead of the later series choice to make him a beefcake of muscle.

Ive been listening to all systems Goku and they brought up this point when Vegeta died the first time. He gives this whole sob story about being taken as a child and made into the thing he is and how if he cared that much about saiyens as a race he should have cared more about Nappa and Raditz.
I think it makes sense though. Vegeta is a complicated dude with a lot of damage. He can hate the person he is without being able to rise above the way he was raised.
