assists on? really? I turned them on at first and they confused me more than anything else. I guess I'll get used to them, but, can you use them in multiplayer?

Assists can be blocked by the host, but they are not disabled by default. The host can also lock manual transmission, view, and a number of other options.

If anyone wants to setup a group night or league that would be great. I was in one for Forza 1 and it was pretty good. We balanced the car performance and everything, but it should be easier w/ this b/c of the enhanced rating system. PM me if anyone is interested in the whole league thing.

As far as learning, I actually turned off all the assists except auto transmission and just went with it. I figure if Im going to learn, might as well learn once instead of re-learning over and over.

I also enjoy the c-b-a class races, very fun. I miss the hill climbs of the old game though. Doin a big hill climb in completely stock civics? totally awesome

Also: like Merovingi, I prefer casual racing in the D to B/A ranges. I'm too old and my reflexes are too shot for those high-end carzilla models.

I'm usually busy during the work week, but like to get in short, casual gaming sessions (a few 1 hour sessions with breaks between is how I usually play) on Friday and Saturday nights between 5ish p.m. .and 11ish p.m. U.S. Eastern.

I can play online from time to time. My only problem is I suck without break lines on. I always either over break on a easy turn or to much gas.

Also love driving those R1 class cars, even if I suck with them. But I have more fun racing in cars that I could own in real life a bit more.

I also prefer cars in the A-B-C range as well, mostly because I just can't handle the speed on some of those high end cars.

I like good clean racing, but I'm also terrible and enjoy flying off the course in a poorly executed turn.

Perhaps we should define some different types of racing?

1. Hardcore - No assists, no-holds-barred, no class limit
2. Not-as-Hardcore - Braking lines, no-contact, class limits
3. Bumpercars - TCS/ABS, full-contact, stock D-class
4. Respect Your Elders! - No assists, no-contact, pre-1975
5. etc...

..something like that?
