Heh, I was all excited when I got Fox in world of light. Then I remembered I almost never play him, and don't really have any spirits that would buff his attacks very well anyways.
I've mostly been playing Dr. Mario (with fist & kick upgrades, also down special if I have the slot open) and Pikachu (magnemite for plus electric, gandreda for plus electric, fi for neutral special, and wii fit deep breath for down special). I'd use Mii Swordfighter more, but my nephew has me playing his profile for him and basically exclusively wants to use his crazy miis (always swordfighters, almost always with the super-polygonal spiky boys haircut in bright red, also sunglasses). Incidentally, if you ever wondered what was up with all the bizarre miis on the used Nintendo Wii the Game Grumps got, it probably was the doings of a four year old. My nephew has made miis with the following names:

yoyo
Yoyo's Mom (who, I'd like it noted, is a male mii; diversity!)

All I know about Piranha Plants is that some of them just pop up out of the pipe, and some of them pop up and shoot a fireball. That's half of their repertoire going unrepresented in Smash.

I guess they figured spiked ball & firebreath would be too many projectiles? You do raise a good point though, fireball breathing is more common than spiked ball, and I can't even recall where the poison cloud comes from.
I bet the spiked ball started out as a fireball but they changed it to a gordo-like object to represent the high killing power it has. Maybe? I don't remember piranha plants spitting spiked balls in any of the mario games I've played at least.
Long lists as jokes tend to get my ire, but I appreciate the attention to detail. Also, DLC fighters getting Guidance is good, now to speculate on what Joker's will be about.

I gave Pirahna Plant a serious shot in a few games against a friend last night and now I know the satisfaction of sniping someone with the spike ball
I could see Joker’s guidance involving Pit freaking out about the possibility of Joker stealing the Sacred Treasures.

No I know it does a lot of damage but I think if you were to use it as a "ledge trap" someone could probably just quickly move through it and it'd only do like maybe 8-10% damage.
Do you think when Joker comes out they'll add Persona spirits because I'm weirdly obsessed with getting all the spirits.

The bit with Master Hand is part of the true ending, right?
I don't think so? It definitely leads up to there, but you have the choice of fighting either elder god, or fighting them together, after doing the Master Hand bit.
