Every time I see a Mr. X clip I subconsciously add in KNOCK KNOCK OPEN UP THE DOOR IT'S REAL whenever he pops into frame

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

My favorite Mr x moments come from carelessly throwing doors open only to have him haymaker you.

He did it to me once in the west office and it caused Claire to roll back into the security locker room.

The sound of the footsteps relative to distance is sometimes pretty misleading though. There’ve been times when the sounds were super dull but then he was like, right there

the music tends to kick in when he's in another room and near the door

my first goal with Mr. X is get eyes on him before I do a dash across the station

he's not terribly hard to kite on the normal difficulty if you keep your cool

we'll, uh, see how well I do with that on hardcore

X is super easy to deal with as long as you're not also dealing with something else and you are always dealing with something else

Just about anywhere X is forced to show up will have either two ways out, or something you can lead him around.

Nobody remembers the singer. The song remains.

    Amazingly, it's not
based on picking up the jack. As soon as you're in there, he's mad.

If that's all true then that confirms my game glitched
I didn't know until now what other scripted moments X is supposed to have. I found my way to the jack, snagged it, and continued to have free run of the hallways and the library as I moved those stacks around
    He never showed

I played on Assist and still had to deal with Mr. X plenty of times, so I think some AI scripting just got messed up on your run.

Not him, I just mean other enemies
Like even on Assisted you can pump 5 or 6 headshots in a guy before he's dead. I don't want to increase that by much and also worry about half of those shots going wide and etc etc etc

It's basically the same on standard except it's you aiming

    He never showed
In some places he's a guaranteed appearance, in others it's a probability.
According to one speedrunner commentary I heard, it's apparently only a 60/40 chance of him instantly showing up in the Records Room.

In other news, apparently you can alert lickers from adjacent rooms? It's never happened to me before, but I walked to the Linen Room, ran to the vault inside it, then got mauled the second I walked out (which felt like five minutes later, given that my memory flatly refused to let me solve that puzzle).
Given that I'd emptied most of my stuff so I could collect everything I needed, that undid a good 25 minutes of work. Thanks, ObamaLicker.

If the difficulty curve is too steep you can do the A/B runs on assisted for the infinite knife, then leg shot in standard and just hack away

1-2 shots to the knees will cause them to collapse, and it’s easy to sit lock them before they can get up

Once I do Leon B I'm probably done with this game

I'm not like one of you maniacs who's going to run this a dozen times for S ranks

I ran it I think four times total and felt like that was enough.

I think I drink too much coffee to play this game anymore, Claire A was harrowing and every time I try to carry on with Leon B something horrible happens and I say out loud "I can not do this" and stop

Broke as fuck in the style of the times. Gratitude is all that can return on your generosity.

Hardcore is wrecking me even with the infinite pistol. Might need to grab that magic knife first

Unbreakable knife is way more helpful than infinite pistol. If you've played well enough to get it, you know what you're doing enough that handgun ammo shouldn't be a concern.

Infinite Pistol is good with zombies but that Infinite Knife is a legit Birkin Buster.

  • Options
    JavenJaven Registered User regular
Yeah infinite knife is such an ammo-saver, it makes other infinite ammo things kind of redundant
