Umm ... apparently, this is a thing.
My normal leveling mission for new frames on Coba was raided by the actual Wolf of Saturn (the guy is huge ... I mean yuge). I was like oh snap, a celebrity bombed my party. Then he proceeded to wipe the floor with everybody there who were all sporting low-level frames. Nothing we did to the guy even tickled the bastard. One by one my group of four aborted the mission until me and one guy, determined to keep trying, fought with tooth, nail, and all our ammo hoping to make it to wave 5 where we might be able to extract.
Mind you the guy crashes the party in round 2, completely ignores the invited infested guest, and proceeds to stalk the entire team. All the meanwhile we still need to kill the infested to finish each wave. We finally reach wave five and end the infested but this guy is STILL going ... and to make matters worse we can't extract until All ... I don't think they heard me in the back ... ALL the enemies are dead ... including him. Needless to say, we didn't have the firepower to take him down. We got him to about ~75 to 80 percent, ran out of ammo, energy, and health (oh and by the way your abilities don't work on the guy ... go figure). After expending all our lives except one each we both aborted the mission.
TLDR - If you are doing any missions that count towards your nightwave credit take a GOOD gun with you ... just in case. I still don't know for sure what damages him ... but I'm sure corrosive/viral/radiation would have done the trick.
It's funny just how heavily Gara breaks the AI in interception missions. They won't shoot at it if there's no one inside, so everything just bunches up at the edge. If they're left alone, eventually they'll hit the spawn cap and be trapped there even after they're supposed to be switching to a different point, meaning that you can cap all four points and just sit back and watch as they do absolutely nothing. I managed to beat today's sortie doing that, even though the enemies were nearly impossible to kill.

I just ran into Captain Beef Supreme and yeah, this guy is no fucking joke. This is what a mission invading boss SHOULD be like
You just go grab his mission and then it'll be guaranteed in certain maps - there's a steam guide that basically tells you exactly where to go once you know which mob you're after:
(or just look up Synthesis Target Locations and it'll pop up in the steam guides)
This is the future. This is what we built. This is what we wanted. It must have been. Because we all had the fucking choice, didn't we? It is only our money that allows commercial culture to flower. If we didn't want to live like this, we could have changed it at any time, by not fucking paying for it.
So let's celebrate by all going out and buying the same burger. -transmet
They're easy to target farm if you do the right missions. Like I had Corrupted Bombards so I looked them up on the wiki, saw they spawn in Void missions level 30-40, and got one per Ukko run.

You don't even have to play every day. If you never did a daily or cap a fugitive and exclusively did all weekly quests you'd hit rank 30 in week 8 out of 10.

This has been my experience with Atlas.
People have on multiple occasions been like "Holy shit, someone is playing Atlas!? Why would you even"
And I'm all "Hey so 3 computer consoles are unhackable by the enemies. Feel free to shoot them in the back of the head while they stand there doing nothing. I'll head to another point and drop my big taunting rock boy and then shoot all the things with my pirate cannon, oh also you're welcome."
My only critique of the Nightwave system is that sometimes you log in for an alert because you want a big payout for not a ton of work.
In Nightwave the rewards are good, but require a lot of work.

I see people on the official forums complaining that they can't get Nitain as fast anymore. "If you log in and do everything every day and spend all your creds on Nitain you can only get an average of two a day!"
Like, dawg, how much Alertium you need?
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKERS
My only critique of the Nightwave system is that sometimes you log in for an alert because you want a big payout for not a ton of work.

I'm not sure they do. I mean a lot of the initial goals haven't required anything I would really consider work. There's like two or three weekly goals that I groaned at I guess? But that was mostly "Oh fuck you and your sculptures" and then well hell I guess I need to actually do a sortie and figure out how this Eidolon things works.
Frankly I kind of prefer it to "Oh, really? Is there another Vauban blueprint available that I don't need? Or wait, another shitty cosmetic helm that I can waste actually valuable resources on? Oh, no it turns out you want to let me know I can earn 1/100th of a single Index run. Fuck off, Space Mom. The only alerts I care about involve nitain or potatoes."

Mostly I worry about the accessibility to newbies. I know that when I was new, Oxium alerts were where I got most of my Oxium stock, and for a noob it seems far more likely to manage to grab a potato blueprint off the occasional alerts than get enough of the large missions (which include things like "kill an Hydrolyst", which I still have never done at MR21) to hit the potato level.
I also think the new system looks like too much work. I already miss jumping in the game and having a suggestion at something to do which is guaranteed to have others trying to do it to in seconds.
There's not as much population on the Switch. I'm probably going to end up doing a lot of things myself and/or on the easiest possible level (3 capture missions on earth).
Dailies need to be more targeted like "do a mission at Ariel on Uranus." That way if I'm a player who is trying and failing to get a group together on a node, and I'm stuck there on the star chart, eventually everyone will be directed to help me with that node. Whether directly, or to get to a later node just after where I'm stuck. And for newer players who are nowhere near Uranus? Seeing those dailies is a constant motivator to push forward on the star chart too.
I started playing approximately when Warframe came out on Switch (about Nov/Dec) and I'd say alerts stopped being relevant to me about a month or so ago.
I'm only MR 8 or 9 but I can get or have gotten everything from the alert system. Hell, I didn't even have the whole star chart unlocked when I didn't need alerts anymore.
I don't think I've done things efficiently or even all that intelligently. So I get that alerts are good for noobies, but I think that ages out really fast. So far the new system gives me points for doing things I pretty much do anyway, and looks to have a better payout (slots alone are amazing).
It's not about need. I just got up to the start of Pluto and about all I've been doing for a while is alerts because they're really easy to pop into the game and do a couple without thinking about anything. You know you're going to find others to do them with you, you'll get some credits, some endo, it was nice.
I hear ya. I kinda do the same thing running Gabii or something to get money and level new frames or weapons. Or fishing or mining.
If a friend or family member calls me it's guaranteed that I'm playing Gabii muted leveling stuff mindlessly.

I like the new system, but I also didn't have much use for the old one since I think I've crafted everything that needs Nitain for now and all I'd grab were the catalyst/reactor/forma alerts, so I understand I'm probably not the norm. Looking at the path to get to the top tier it looks like a grind, but the path to get there is normal gameplay and I do like the carrot of progression since there wasn't much left to do for me other than getting the final way to MR 26, cleaning up some achievements and loot hunt for various stuffs that I don't have yet.

SO UH in other news y'all... I need a better gun. Guns. I need help building a Gun.
Reason: Yesterday, I tried to do a Dragon Key run with Kippi, where I was Nehza carrying all the keys. The idea being, capture the target, then Kippi helps me find the damn door as it's easier to do it with two people. But I do want to be able to solo the vaults.
Problem: I could NOT do enough damage to the Corpus Target to hit his HP. While I'd loaded up with GO FASTER mods, I'm still s l i g h t l y slower than the dude's running speed. I also can't use Spoiler Mode to go faster (There's a bug with Spoiler Mode where the game re-applies the effects of the Keys on your Warframe every time you use it, so you can chunk yourself down to 1 hp 1 shield frozen in place 0 damage) or Energy Siphon for more energy to Chakram the guy (Needed the Sprint Boost so I wasn't a total turtle).
And I just. Could. Not. Do. Enough. Freaking. Damage. I was using Soma Prime; I'm wondering if I shouldn't have swapped to the Vectis instead, but the problem with the Vectis is that it has a massive kickback and to actually hit with it you NEED to use the scope and those capture targets RUN.
So uh. How do I build a gun that doesn't care about the damage reduction from a Key.

I also did my 4 key runs ~3 weeks ago as Nezha. I used a pretty bog standard Staticor, damage + multishot + quad ele/status + some qol like projectile speed.
I have a bunch of extras if you want them, I don't know what they are off the top of my head though.

It's more that I'd bullet jump and slide, then move to shoot, plink him for not nearly enough damage, and then he'd dip around a corner or teleport or whatever.
Ughhh, Shotguns. I hate shotguns so much. I hate how fucking slow they are to load and fire and how I never feel like I can hit anything, but I guess they're the go-to for big one shot damage

You avoid the speed debuff by bullet jumping like mad (which is unaffected), not by stacking sprint speed mods.
As for bigger gun that doesn't give a bleep... I suggest Arca Plasmor or the best Tigris you can get your hands on.
I'm... not sure you can. And I submit that it's almost certainly easier to just stop pushing the boulder trying to solo it.
Yeh. As far as I can tell you have something like a maximum of 40,000 xp per week. Which means that even if you finish every quest you're somewhere around lvl 24-27 when this run ends after 8 weeks. You can get extra XP from Wolf of Saturn and saturn 6 encounters, but can you get 30,000xp or more through random encounters? You know. Without playing...a lot.

There's 7 1k dailies a week, 7 3k weeklies, and 3 5k weeklies, which is a potential 43k rep a week. If you do all of them it'll take a hair under 7 weeks. If you skip the dailies because you don't want to play every day then you get 36k rep a week and it'll take a little over 8 weeks to finish. Iirc they said the event runs for 10 weeks.
I dont even care about the armor set, that rank 29 umbral forma though, that is the real prize. And since i have like 35 nitain, i can spend all my cred on potatoes, so that is nice.
I also did my 4 key runs ~3 weeks ago as Nezha. I used a pretty bog standard Staticor, damage + multishot + quad ele/status + some qol like projectile speed.

Shoot dude, that'd be rad. I'm mostly looking for Narrow Minded at this point for my Limbo; I already have Depleted Reload for my Vectis Prime (which tbh is one of the very few edge cases where a Corrupted Mod for a weapon works) (sob now I just have to sit around praying that Primed Chamber EVER comes back into rotation ;-;
I don't think this is a matter of maximizing gains under the new system, but of a player setting a personal goal which might be possible / achievable, but which the game doesn't really support - if anything, the opposite. That their personal preference of weapons / playstyle takes one of the few and most effective tools for the task off the table just makes it that much harder.
I dunno, maybe I'm wrong or only speaking for myself. I'm not the sort of player who ruthlessly optimizes their build or throws themselves at a mountain Because It's There. For me, all of that is more frustrating than fun. And so, IMO, there comes a time to stop trying to ice skate uphill.

Soma Prime is kind of on the light side of things damage wise. It's one of the lowest damage rifles in terms of base damage. It only requires MR 7 after all.
For easy to acquire but effective shotguns I'd suggest the Arca Plasmor over most other options (though the Vaykor Hek is really really good) but for non-shotgun suggestions . . .
Almost every assault rifle will do more damage than the Soma Prime minus things like the Braton and Burston Prime which barely count. Baza is more effective unless you're going for really long range but also isn't the strongest damage per shot. Tiberon Prime is my go to rifle on outdoor maps as it has good damage and accuracy plus you can switch between fire modes depending on what you need. I think both the Stradavar and Tenora would be improvements over the Soma Prime as well, just not mind-blowing ones. Ignis Wraith and Amprex are also great beam weapons but will need some forma invested to really sing.
Kitguns are some of the more effective weapons right now as well though some of their power lies in what happens with Primed Target Cracker and Primed Pistol Gambit. Tombfinger, Rattleguts, and Catchmoon are all good options.
I cant figure out if using the depleted reload + the mod that increases damage on first/last shot is worth it on the vectis. I cant even fogure out what mods i would drop to do it.
