ugh boy do i regret buying monster hunter world on launch even more now. i barely played it.

Yeah, I do a bit too. I'd never gotten into the franchise, and Monster Hunter World was cool, but still not my thing.

It probably didn't help that my primary motivation to play it was so I'd have something to talk to my supervisor about, since he loved the franchise....and a few months later I hated (and still hate) my supervisor and would rather stick my finger down my throat than talk to him unnecessarily.

I'll give MHW a try, at least. I've tried and failed to get into the series before (MH Freedom 2 on the PSP and MH4U on the 3DS), so I don't expect it to go all that well, but for zero monies, why not.

Jeepers what a list that is. Am I too scared to try Monster Hunter World? It seems scary.

The main difference between Monster Hunter World and the older games is that World plays and feels like a game meant for humans instead of Monster Hunter players

Monster Hunter World and Prey are both phenomenal games

While I'm miffed I bought Monster Hunter before this, I'm glad I didn't give in and buy Prey those times it was on sale. This is an amazing steal for Microsoft. I doubt SONY's month looks anything like this.

To be fair, this is game pass and not Games with Gold. I had the same thought at first.

Oh, well, still. You can compare it to PSN Now then. I thought it was Gold myself. They are getting some good games on Game Pass though. Crazy.

Ya Prey is really fucking good. I have it on PC and keep meaning to go back and finish it. It's basically System Shock 3 and man, it's great if you like those kinds of games.

Despite loving System Shock 2, none of the spiritual successors (namely, Bioshock) ever really stood with me. I should give not-about-a-army-veteran Prey a chance though, I've only watched it.

Yeah like bioshock was fun first time through but man that's a game I feel just doesn't hold up on subsequent play throughs.

I actually beat Bioshock and Bioshock Infinity...both on hard, and both without any intention of returning to them. By the end, the actual gameplay felt increasingly like a chore that was getting in the way of finally finishing the story.

Yup, thought that was interesting too.

Hopefully it'll be a new suite of oxbox titles.

Finally getting that Dreamcast BC program off the ground.

Seriously though I hope you are right about the oxbox titles. I've bought seven of the ones they've put out so far and there is a long list of other ones I would like to add to those. It's been a solid year since the last batch came out. :(

I still hope it'll be like, "these ones aren't for sale in the Xbox Store, but since that gets around licensing issues and discs exist, here's several hundred of them. Go nuts!"

Hope, not expectation, of course. Dream big and all that. But actual realistic expectation with a bit of hope thrown in? Say, doubling the size of the existing line-up of BC oXbox games with a good curated set of titles. If the oXbox emulation success rate is as good as it's reported to be (over 90%, IIRC), there's still such a lot of good stuff they could dig up from that era.

Wasn't Asura's Wrath announced for BC a bit back? Where is it? I kinda want to run through the game and punch dudes with many arms. Hell...I'd consider picking up all the DLC at this point just to finish the entire package at this point. Played it back when I had Game Fly on the 360 and I wish Capcom would rerelease it with the Ultimate Kharma edition.

Eh...I dunno. I'm a huge Soulsborne fan, and I still found MH: World finicky in ways that were not fun for me personally. It just doesn't seem to mesh with my play style.

Actual official outlets--including Major Nelson--have been dropping hints for months now.

I mean, they could still not actually produce anything because companies can fuck up (Gakai will change your life!), but in any case, they think they have something to share.

That's right: Microsoft has another Game Pass promo for 3 months for $1. I'm no longer able to see it since I decided to actually use it first before I linked it, but it went through on me.

Just like last time: this is only for people whose subscriptions have formally ended. Mine lapsed on Tuesday. If you have Game Pass subscription active right now...it won't be available for you.

Otherwise: get on that shit. I still find it hilarious I have never paid full price for Game Pass, and I'm not going to pass up a 97% discount.

Yeah, as I stated, you have to have a cleared subscription for the promo to show up. It's not like Xbox Live Gold, which you can just keep loading up on typically.

Microsoft knows you're out of their sticky Netflix-of-games subscription service and they want you back.

Half a year of Game Pass for $2. Not bad.

  • HardtargetHardtarget There Are Four Lights VancouverRegistered User regular
ya, I parsed your post as any account can take advantage of that promo once, not as if you already have it you can't take advantage.. which does make more sense :\

I'm not quite sure what this means, but then MHW is the only one I've put a lot of time into. The other MH games were just too overwhelming / not user-friendly (for me) when I tried them

I'm not really a fan of the Dark Souls games but I love MHW. From my experience, MHW is way more forgiving than the Dark Souls games, until you get to like super ultra tempered versions of the monsters

That's what I would expect, or at least I expected. But this might be the...third time I've used the whole "three months for $1" deal? Since I just let it lapse each time, it's doable for me.

The only thing I've actually played off Game Pass has been Ashen, but it's been useful in discovering that a couple of games just weren't for me and saving me buying them in sales. :)

Another three months for a buck is a no-brainer. Maybe I'll actually play some of the games I've downloaded.

The Switch version is the best version as it has a bunch of extra content.
From everything I've seen and heard, it's pretty good! Real repetitive, and too much focus on planetside missions when the best stuff is in space tho.

I suspect if you have time--any time--it's not going to let you have the deal. You have to have a cleared subscription to see it.

I'm not sure about the DLC and whatever else Ultimate has, but the base Odyssey game is a lot of fun and a ton of content already

the game is pretty good yeah, quite a bit of story dlc that's still on-going and the season pass gets you the AC3 + Liberation remaster. 3 isn't the best in the series by any stretch but Liberation is interesting and as free bonus they're both worth a look i'd say.

Isn't Starlink the game with the physical toys or something? If it's not, I may check it out. I don't feel like googling to find the answer to this.
