I still think the only Nintendo game worth playing online is Splatoon, and that's pretty much because the game is so good, even Nintendo's ass backwards online system can't ruin it completely.
Does Smash Brothers have online play worth a damn yet?
anecdotally, it's still very hit and miss. My kids play a lot and sometimes its very smooth and other times it's like watching two people play against bots that are set to warp!
Looks like Yu-Gi-Oh Legacy of the Duelist is coming to Switch with an updated version and physical release in August.
Includes all previously released DLC for other versions and more for $40. (A quick look at the dlc list on steam shows it’s $20 for the base game and over $80 for all the dlc).
Consenting opinion time! I also have it, and it's certainly not bad. It'll somewhat scratch the itch if you got one. But it's honestly also kind of bland and far too short.

Well it is an indie game. It’s never going to be Super Metroid or SotN.
Honestly, I liked Timespinner for what it was. Perfectly good for scratching a metroidvania itch, and has a decent, if rote, plot. The music for the game is a highlight, for sure.

I complained about how terrible the frame rate was in American Fugitive last week, and they have since released a patch that makes it a lot better. It's still not silky smooth all the time, but it is very much playable now. Pretty fun game, though it is annoying that you get a wanted level for just bumping into another car.

Damn. NIS is in the hole and this trailer for Destiny Connect does nothing to make me actually want to play the game.
I appreciate the artistic style they went for and that they went all-in on it, even though it's not what I personally was looking for. That being said though, the Switch version in particular is not especially optimized. I've caught some long form gameplay vids on YouTube and some of the world map transitions reached upwards of 20+ seconds.
I'm not going to comment on the story because my understanding is that it was targeted for younger audiences so it will be a bit basic, but there are other issues like the fact that there is no voice acting whatsoever. This is especially jarring because they made everyone so emotive and full of personality, but it ends up like watching pantomime. There's also a ton of text dialogue so you're expecting children to both read all of that because there's no narration and to not get bored out of the game in the process.
It also doesn't help that NIS has chosen to release Labyrinth of Galleria(Labyrinth of Refrain's sequel) on PS4 and Vita, but currently no plans to release it on Switch. It's like.. c'mon NIS what are you doing

That makes me really sad. Labyrinth of Refrain is a great gridder. I'm currently playing through it now.
Sweet another half-assed last-gen port that will both look AND run worse than the original game from almost ten years ago! *glares at Saint's Row 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 ports*

Has it been confirmed that this port is awful or are you going on past history? Because I never played Ghostbusters when it was originally released, but heard good things about it and was thinking about picking it up.

AC3 being a half-assed port of the old version was kind of a shitty move.
Same with SR3.
Like, I full understand current-gen ports like Doom, Wolf2, and Hellblade not looking or running as good as their console counterparts
But a nearly decade old game? Come on now, you just shit this out as quickly as you could in hopes of making some money off the rubes. You didn't even remotely try.
Wait I thought everyone was down on and disappointed with that ghostbusters game? Didn't it also run like garbage on the unreal engine, or am I misremembering a second ghostbusters game that hit in that same gen? fake edit: It looked/ran badly on one of the platforms compared to another, I think I remember that much with textures being muddied out.

Spoiler'd for big. (more in article)
This is true, though I forgot how much I relied on motion controls for it.

Remover that sleep tracker Nintendo was supposed to be working on? It lives. And it will help you catch Pokémon.
I’m not kidding. Behold Pokémon Sleep:

If I didn't have a kid I could win this game.

It works well if the parties involved are on ethernet.
Outside of that, it's rather spotty.

Isn't every Metroidvania in the last 20 years?
If only
The devs stated that SotN was an inspiration, yeah, and they were trying to pay it homage. Sounds like they did reasonably well with that?

It's dumb and holy shit do the Vita neverdiers get mouthy if you try and ask if it is coming to the Switch.

I mean, I don't see why you don't just pick up a Vita. It's basically a switch with a better screen and better battery life...
