    Pyramidhead

    he chases you like, once?

and it's maybe the least tense scene with pyramid head in the whole game

I feel like, and I know he later appeared in other much shittier games, that Pyramidhead would ever really chase James Sutherland. Pyramidhead would be uninterested in other folks.

he implicitly represents james' guilt in his version of the silent hill otherworld

Yeah I know but some of the real bad silent hill games have pyramid head randomly be an antagonist.

I seem to remember Pyramid Head showing up to chase me quite a few times in Silent Hill 2.

The Griffith Park elder werewolf in Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

You're a vampire, who by this stage of the game has dusted dozens of other vampires, werewolves, and other assorted supernatural creatures. But someone has deliberately lured you into his backyard in the Hollywood Hills and set a brush fire to flush him out, and he is NOT happy.

You may be armed with automatic rifles, flamethrowers, and cheap katana replicas, but for THIS dude none of that will do any good. Your only hope is to flee for 3:35 until the cable car comes back up so you can escape - and he will tear straight through walls to get the person who he thinks has burnt down his home.
Unless you can lure him into the observatory roof mechanism and crush him, but even then you're desperately hoping he hasn't circled ahead of you while you frantically run between buildings trying to get the damn thing working.

    He felt really guilty.

    "Do Not Pursue Lu Bu"

Okay, got it, don't mess with him. I'm gonna avoid him and just *accidentally takes out Diao Chan*

    Oh. Oh fuck

Off the top of my head I can't think of a similar "I regret everything!" point in a game like that. Lu Bu chases you down and destroys you and you have to start over
