[Ricochet Robots] A puzzle a day keeps the robot doctor away
Rules: You need to move the selected robot to the selected target, which is determined by the goal token in the center of the board (color and symbol). Robots move in a straight line horizontally or vertically until they hit something (a wall or another robot). Each such move counts as one move. The goal is to move the selected robot to its' goal in the fewest possible moves. The robots are randomly placed at the beginning of the game. The end position for the robots after getting the target robot to the goal is the start position for the next puzzle.
The actual game has a time element to it which is not going to be replicated here. I'm going to check for answers each afternoon(ish), and whoever has posted a correct answer that is the fewest moves will get a point. There are 17 goal tokens, so we'll just go through them all and whoever has the most points at the end wins. Feel free to drop in or out as we go. Points will be awarded and new puzzles posted sometime in the afternoon EST each day.
You only get one answer submission, and we're going to use the honor system here that no one is going to look at other people's answers before submitting. Post answers in the thread in this format please:
Puzzle 2 up, points given. Bunch of people got 8, Elvenshae gets cool points for getting 8 in a different way than everyone else. I get cool points for posting the worst answer, with 12
Found a few 7s involving moving multiple bots, checked Vyolynce’s answer so I could use a different one to his, and see he has a much simpler better answer.

We should aim for non-target robots to end on the outside of the maze for bonus points right?

Now I can read your answer, I really can’t see one less being physically possible, but I’d love to be corrected.

It’s so obvious with hindsight!

I'm glad I took another look because that's half my original way overly complicated answer
