Wow...I just read some of the earlier pages. Graphic stuff. Nine Inch Nails was perfect background music while reading it. Lilfe is not without its humorous sense of timing.

Sometimes I get the overwhelming urge to quote Quine. Then I have to punch myself in the face and take a few shots, just to try to kill that part of my brain. I don't even like Quine!

For reference, my thought process went: science and mathematics--that reminds me of the Quine's reference to the failed attempts to derive mathematics from logic--that reminds me of Crispin Wright's objection to Simon Blackburn that quasi-realist reconstructions of the Frege-Geach problem are incapable of taming "the mighty musts of logic"--that reminds me of Quine's rejection of the distinction between synthetic and analytic truthes--that reminds me of Donald Davidson's coherence theory of truth.

    Bwa.

Hm wait...15...no now that I think about it I probably was somewhere on Usenet.

This is complicated - I think 11-13 I was still playing Descent, which means alt.games.descent or similar. Also porn, which was ultimately the only lasting use for usenet once everything got spammed to all hell everywhere else (with more porn).

...okay, so not even joking here, but I'm thinking of ditching honours. Its not where I want to be, I don't want to be a researcher, my topic is ill-defined and uninteresting, and my supervisor is AWOL most of the time. I'm sick of studying and forever putting off a bunch of other life-stuff that I want to do. Things holding me back: Its halfway through the year already, I've spent a semesters' worth of HECS allowance that I'll eventually have to pay back ($3000 or so) and I don't know what it'll do to my GPA if I bail. Also, I have this feeling that developing a habit of giving up on things simply because they aren't easy or fun is a bad idea. Lastly, It'll improve my job prospects, apparently.

    Anyone been there before?

    I was roundabouts 17.

It's kind of absurd to think about.
