    Just finished watching a pretty sobering film on poverty in the UK. It's a film by the great socialist director Ken Loach called I, Daniel Blake.

    I wouldn't say it's an exactly pleasant film to watch, and it'll leave you surely depressed after, but if you'd like a look at the monstrosity that's the current UK welfare system, this is the movie for you.

    We've had some other great films about poverty the last few years. Moonlight, The Florida Project and Lean on Pete to name a few.

    Just finished watching Annihilation and oh man do I wish they had given that movie to a director who wanted to make a fucking science fiction movie instead of a docudrama. I can only imagine what George Miller or Danny Boyle could have done with that setting and that team.
