November 7th is "N7" day, so it's possible they are tied into that.
what if they gave the armors away for free? ha.
Good point. And I haven't seen when the end date is for this event. Given that it's not explicitly a Halloween one (I mean yes, obviously that's the tie in, but presumably they want to milk this thing as new'ish content for more than 2 weeks), it would make sense to have it go into November (creature costumes now, Mass Effect later) and then after a bit of downtime in between have something vaguely Christmas'y/New Year's to round out December into January.
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
I had forgotten the pricing on the last round of armour sets from the Cataclysm. Looks like they were 8 Major crystals apiece (that major/minor thing was dumb, I'm glad they seem to have abandoned it, and yet they still have the 'convert major to minor' thing in the store, which is just weird unless it was too must of a pain in the ass to remove when they adapted it over), which translates to 4,000 crystals apiece.
If that is indeed the precedent set (and depending on rarity and a few other factors, I'd say they seem to adhere to a pretty standard formula), I guess I'll start building up to a nice 16k+ nest egg for when they do come out (this is still contingent on some assumptions that they'll be priced similarly, and will be in the seasonal store, but I can't do anything about whether or not they're sold for coin/shards). I decided to snag the graphic from the most recent store, and luckily already had the other material and emote, so I'm sitting on 10k'ish already. A run per day on average should help me get into a good place by the next round of stuff in the store.

Are they actually cycling cosmetics through that shop? I only spotted 2 cosmetics at the start of the event, the rest was gear chests and I haven't been keeping up as much since (mostly backfilling missions/strongholds)
I paid $22 for Anthem during the EA debut sale on the Humble Store. Right now, I'm feeling like I'm getting my money's worth. For the price equivalence of two Subway 6-inch sandwiches, it's worth at least checking out.

I'm pretty sure at least one material and one emote were marked as 'already owned' when I checked the store for the first time. Can't recall if they were picked up in a previous store cycle, or during an event, or something else.
But yeah, there isn't (or wasn't, at the time) much in the seasonal shop to start. I didn't play much of the original Cataclysm event until the final week or two, but it was a bit of surprise in contrast to when they had bigger piles of stuff available. Not sure what the release timeline is line on that stuff (if it has even been announced), but slowly accruing some currency ahead of time seems prudent if I want at least 4 sets of armour at their previous price. Getting enough to justify a Legendary box or two would be nice as well, but depending on when it ends I may or may not put in that kind of time.

Ah, seems earlier speculation was unnecessary. In game, a few of the event long challenges have 32.5 days remaining on them, meaning this seasonal event will last until late November (end the morning of the 26th), and I’m guessing whatever Christmas themed seasonal they have will start shortly thereafter.
Hopefully that runs December and into January, at which point ideally they’ll have some more improvements/content to throw our way.
In general, I mean. I’m aware that like most businesses, people get some well deserved downtime for the holidays, I mean more like Jan/Feb, maybe Q1. More of a commentary that 2 seasonal events here might see us through the next quarter alone.

It might be a bit much to hope for new javelin classes at some point, but hopefully we can see some fruits of labor someday
I haven't seen anything yet, though I also haven't been on much in the last few days.
My current assumption is that they'll show up around N7 Day (November 7th, for those who haven't lived and breathed Mass Effect for the last decade+).
Edit; the real question is whether or not they'll put them up for coins/shards, or the seasonal store. I'm hoping it's the latter, and that they're priced around what the previous skins were (8 Major crystals, so 4,000 minor crystals apiece), but have been hovering around 20k+ just in case they're more than that. If it's the usual 60k+ coins or shards, ugh, that I'll fall short on, and am not enthusiastic about throwing more money at.
I really hope they go with the seasonal currency. Hell, make it all 3 if they want, but as a thing 'for the fans' it'd be a nice olive branch to make them available for crystals, while respecting that at least making an option for the other two currencies might go a ways with those who haven't been playing but want to snag them all the same and are willing to pay that price.
Or just give them all to us free. That'd be pretty sweet too.

Still, people should be celebrating, really, since evidence points to poor middle-management being responsible for Anthem's production woes (this specifically also affects SWTOR as well, though, Chad Robertson was juggling a number of balls)
Hopefully their replacement does better

They got at least one thing right and I'd kill for a gyrostabilizer for my ladder because I too have cobblestone around my yard and getting up on the roof always feels like a fucking nightmare
Give me some of that javelin tech for utterly mundane purposes

Huh...so $36 (with my OAP discount) to get everything? Guess I'll focus on the bits I really want (I just can't bring myself to use any other javelin aside from my Interceptor...it just feels so good going on a slice-n-dice rampage!)

Yeah I've always found the armour prices to be a bit silly especially when scaled against the cheaper stuff like emotes and paint textures
~$40 Canadian on 4 armour sets for a game I occasionally swing through isn't really grabbing me as a great idea. A free release was never super likely, but to be honest I'm a little disappointed they aren't at least available in the seasonal shop.
I might have/be able to grind up enough coins to get the Shepard Shuffle. I'm not entirely ruling out snagging the suits (to quote the comics, "I am a consumer whore."), but it's not exactly the community outreach/olive branch I'd been hoping for them to offer up.

i got bad news for you man
And that news is...?
I'm seriously wanting to know, because the only recent news I can find is that of Chad Robertson leaving.
I'm not sure how it used to be, but after a week of off-and-on playing (sitting at 11 hours total playtime since I bought the game), I've gotten 72k coins. I can only imagine how many coins somebody who's stuck out since launch is hoarding...
My coins have been gotten by doing what comes naturally to me: getting easily distracted by side-quests and collectibles in those quests.

I think Hardtarget meant that EA/Bioware hasn't really been replacing Anthem staff. Robertson became the face of Anthem after Ben Irving left, and his replacement hasn't been announced. Which seems a bit odd since Robertson gave notice instead of insta-quitting.
Which could be another sign Anthem's winding down. EA barely mentioned Anthem once during its recent quarterly report (while mentioning the crap out of Apex Legends), so it's possible Robertson saw the writing on the wall.
Again, this is all tea leaf-reading. But man, positive things are a lot harder to find than negative things at this point.

lol this is step 1 to them spinning down Anthem. Clearly i could be wrong and they are going to hire/promote some great new team!

Well...that's kinda been the case since the game launched (and a fair bit before the game launched).

ugh, too expensive. I can get 2, one with gold and one with shards. I think the turian one is a lock. Not sure how I like the Storm, so it'll be between the Colossus or Interceptor.

Content aggregation and farming tends to do that.
Also, who would want to work for EA on Anthem with the vocalized audience that surrounds it? Like yeah. Sign me up for shitposts on my tweets all day every day, sir!

My coins have been gotten by doing what comes naturally to me: getting easily distracted by side-quests and collectibles in those quests.
To touch on this, the rate of accrual from the start is not necessarily indicative of the ongoing rate. On top of the coins that an account starts with, there are many challenge rewards that are one time only, and eventually those start petering out.
They added coins as a drop to freeplay event chests and strongholds, as I recall, and you can surely earn a number by doing the right dailies, but 300k is a massive chunk of change when you're potentially only earning a few thousand a day and have done the vast majority of the challenges, they come in slower and slower. This is further compounded by the 'alliance' system supposedly aiming to give players a weekly stipend, but this... requires other active players. It was one thing to have a half dozen active players all hitting rank 10 in a week. Only hitting like tier 7 or 8, and having zero friends playing further restricts that flow of coin.
Even back during the earliest days of the game, getting 10k in a week from the alliance bonus took quite an effort. 20k-30k a week would be quite a substantial effort not just for the player, but people on their PSN friends list, but as with anything with other players and RNG, YMMV.
300k thus being potentially months worth of savings, and assuming you didn't spend them on the weekly materials and other suits and wraps they've put out.
As I think about it, having them for the standard coin price of a suit isn't itself all that big a deal, but they could have explicitly said that they were coming to the coin store ahead of time. "Surprise, you have a week, good luck" makes it a somewhat more transparent cash grab. Even if they'd said up front weeks ago that this was the case, I imagine most people would struggle to save up much more than a suit or two. N7 day having this large a paywall is kind of meh.
It's not like they kicked my dog or something. It's a skin and I won't have it, big deal, #firstworldproblems, etc. But I think it could have been done better.

I'll have to think on that one. Does my hate for EA outweigh a thrifty, too-good-to-pass-up price? We shall see...

For a nearly dead game, any price might be to high

See, around my parts, a 6-incher is $5.50...
And, honestly, the point still stands: Anthem is more enjoyable to me than a couple Subway sandwiches.
To be fair, getting kicked in the sensitive areas is also more enjoyable than a couple Subway sandwiches.
