I told one of my aunts that I'd be driving in for my grandmother's birthday dinner, then driving back out.

In the past day, I've gotten independently, 4 text threads each from each aunt, telling me that

1.) Night driving is dangerous! (it is not)
2.) The weather will be bad (it is not)
    3.) It's too much driving (it's 3 hours total)
4.) I should get a dog sitter for my dog and then stay in a hotel (an absolutely absurd expense for no reason)

god I hope this level of anxiety isn't some kind of genetic timebomb

Puppies and I were sitting in his house the other day, talking about what he could ‘do’ with the first room in his house. He has an office upstairs. He has a living room and dining room. Right now this first room has a couch and that’s it. And we’re like... I guess people add bookshelves and call a room a library? Or some people have a little theater room separate from a living room with a tv? If you have kids it might be a playroom? Pool table if you like that?

The whole thing made me realize that I would be lost trying to design a big house. I don’t need that many rooms wtf

I have watched enough World's Most Extraordinary Homes to know exactly how to populate the rooms of a home, assuming I have all the money.

A theater, an office, a dining room, a giant exposed rock wall, a workshop, a courtyard with a live joshua tree, a room that's just all swarovski crystals, a couple bathrooms...

Just a foyer/sex dungeon as soon as you walk in the front door. People should know what they’re getting into when the visit.

kids had soccer this morning, which was fun

and we’re going to try into the spiderverse with them this afternoon, not sure if they’ll think it’s too intense or not
