One of the bigger ones that annoy me is the whole "no heroes" or "another rerun" sentiment you see in them. It would at least be understandable if these people just said no meta breaking heroes, or the like. But they have released more heroes in the past few months than I remember when I first started. Just some of them were underwhelming iterative characters. By iterative I mean these kinds of games tend to make all types of iterations for heroes but try to shake it up a bit. Like a giant spreadsheet of abilities and types. Then they take a non filled in combo and make a hero out of the it. But add in something different to shake it up.

Elena's pretty unique at least. Reactive healing, effect res + invincible, cleansing on basic ability. No one else has any of that really at all.
You could argue she's kinda like C. Armin in function, but very different in how it works.

They also have honestly done to try to break up the meta more than any game I’ve seen in the past. For all people claim that it’s stagnant, almost none of them are actually willing to build a new team to try something different with the huge pile of new options they’ve been given.
The worst stomps I keep running into are all the oddball compositions that I see no one else using that I run across that just flatten my nearly cookie cutter team. The meta has changed a lot over the last six months, but not by the people whining about it.
eh, I'm somewhere in the middle. I think the outpouring of hate has been festering for awhile. I think this guy does a great job articulating what the real issues are:
Folks complaining about too many waifu's or re-run events are going to complain for the sake of complaining, and I tune them out.
EDIT: I agree they've done a phenomenal job with units. They've gone back and boosted or nerfed those that needed it (some that still do, *cough* A. Vildred *cough*). The SC units are always at least functional and some are really good.
I mean ive seen a lot of solutions. Most of the complaints I have varying disagreements with usually.
The game does deserve a better end game. But they havent been idle with providing content. At least one story progression a month and 2 side events. While this isnt the creme of the PVE crop it is not nothing. They made the auto tower which now lives up to its name thanks to the complaining. And other stuff. But again I would welcome more end game.
Gold sink is something I generally dont really have a problem with. It has to be something. Even the PVEest of the PVEest games out right now has limitations on what you can do in it and has some of the most grindiest currency ive done in it. That being dragalia of course. They could spread this out into currency more but eh. I think it works fine. You just have to ration it. Edit: But don't get me wrong I think a gold trial available all the time would be fine.
There are more but I think you get the point. I will stick to watching creators that are less click baiting with the script. And I just generally disagree with blanket statements used on everything released lately as "bad" that you tend to see.
With the latest updates and the RTA coming out hopefully people will just let it stand for what it is for awhile. But I doubt it really. There was the whole background frothing at the mouth on reddit over a dev build with "stolen" art being shown on stream. Which was shown to already be corrected and SG contacted the artist to apologize. But oh man it was like the antichrist reborn on reddit. I don't trust those kinds of people with making arguments for the betterment of the game.
Unfortunately that's human nature. Mob mentality and all that. Folks getting whipped up with all the negative posts and calls to action, then the "stolen" art thing happens and folks lose it, despite folks that are game dev's mentioning this happens all the time.
Obviously how irked you are with things like the end game or the gold sink depends on the person. I'd say we've seen a decent number of folks dropping from this thread because of them and to me that means they are too harsh. Yeah, they shouldn't make the game easy mode. But the fact that our only way to "grind" gold are 11 hunts which takes 620 stamina to get 1 million (which I can burn in 2 days of side story grinding) is too much.
I'm hoping RTA is fun and helps with the end game. But the fact that I can't grind gold which is needed everywhere and I run out all the time, sucks. Also charms being so hard to get sucks. I starting looking at what it would take to get equipment to +15 and it was not easy. For necklaces and such, it required a lot of lab grinding for currency to use on charms and/or running lab to visit Huche every day to buy his RNG store (more gold sink).
I think there is easily a way to lower gold costs a bit, make charms more available, introduce gold grinding levels, and tweak RNG on equipment that doesn't break the game or make it too easy. The problem mostly is that the rational discussion of problems gets over shadowed by the loud whining about things that don't really matter.
I do understand I just think it is just minor adjustments needed. Grinds in Gachas are grinds.... I mean it is not for everyone but its what keeps me in the game. I consider it like any other grind in rpgs really. Sub 1% chase item drops in PoE or D3. D2 drops. Other gachas in the same popularity bracket. I am thankful that this game doesnt have the trappings that a lot of those have. Like paid currency or almost literally no way for you to get top gearing items (runes, blueprints, etc) without paying.
I make progress in this game slowly. I expect it. The end game is the gear grind. I prefer it to the other stuff ive played in the genre. Dunno. People burn out to these games all the time. And I still think they are on par or better with the other devs in the genre for generosity in rates and currency. As long as peoples opinions center on 4 affix, power implicit, type easy play adjustments I will disagree.
But to digress a bit back.
I got my Chloe up to 40 in some pretty ok gear I had laying around and holy. She does dmg. She was critting the side event dude in the face for over 20k at 40 with proper setup of debuffs. Without attk up either.

Yeah and her nail add a good chunk of dmg as well.
I lose money fast when I gear but I have been real picky as well. But I still will lose a mil here and there on the shop fishing for summon currency or the occasional good item to buy. And I tend to +15 gear I probably shouldnt but I it has good stats and leveled up good even if not 85 ilvl. Ive been much better now though and have been sitting on around 5+ mil for awhile.
Datamine is out. Lots of good stuff there.
Event is going to be giving away some really nice items. Some most likely free skins for Aither and Cidd. Iserias looks ok but im ok not grabbing it actually so save some currency there perhaps. It all depends on where they put the Cec skin heh. Some artifacts as well as, iseria after violet and Diene on christmas. So I guess I get to save up for her now. ML Romann could be fun. Cant be CR debuffed and a variable CR debuff he can dish out seems ok.
I mean how do I not get gold starved? I had 4.2 million yesterday morning and I'm at 2.8 million right now. All I've done in that time are daily missions, stupidly spending another hundred bookmarks trying to summon Elena, and grinding the side story or world region 5 for Mont's SC missions. However merging all the artifacts I summoned, merging units I summoned, upgrading random equipment to see if I hit on a good sub stat with the trash equipment I get dropped, and leveling up fodder took 1.4 million.
I bumped out a few people who weren’t participating at all based on contribution and guild war logs and replaced them. I’ll hold off on doing anymore until next week to see how this batch goes. Sorry if I bumped out anyone here.
I may have bumped out @Nosf . Let me know if I did and you’re still playing.
Its just 1 powder but you get so little xp for 3 stars into artis. Oh yeah merge 3*s until you finish out all the achieves for SSS. Now that I finished them all I just sell them as they are summoned heh.

My skystones are starting to get kind of low. Not sure what I should do for summons here. I'm half way through Elena's.
Option 1: Elena
Pros: Unique skills set, half way through pity, could fit decent on my cleave team to help against A. Vildred and SSB.
Option 2: Violet
Pros: Fun "main" character, still strong from what I see, could be a fun GW defense team of him, AssCart, and A. Cidd.
Option 3: Diene
Pros: Still one of the best supports in the game. Anti-Crit, Attack, barriers, debuff removal.
Already have Iseria so I can save bookmarks there. Violet seems like the odd man out. He'd be fun, but reading even SSB counters him pretty hard these days. Also I have characters I'm still trying to level and mola for PvP/GW like Charles, A. Cid, BBK, and others.
Diene is still really good. But she needs the gear because you get no heals out of her so if she gets outsped or the like its a wasted spot well unless you put rod on her. Basar also owns her pretty easily.
Also I dunno about Violet being hard countered. A well geared violet can eat whole teams even with SSB. Well, paired with fatcat.
Supremely disappointing, first equipment creation try (used 2 million gold and 1000 ancient coins this morning) and ended up with pretty much all garbage sub stats.

Man... I know it’s a non factor for most it seems but just finished the new story and just more support for this game competing with any anime rpg in a story level.

Well Elena's pity was too tempting. I ran the rest of her steps and got her artifact right before the pity summon. My resources are super low though, while Violet sounds really fun, weirdly I've never had an issue with him in GW or PvP. Generally I just bring a Dark/Light or fire unit like Cermia to deal with him. Granted I'm still in master so maybe with OP gear, he's much harder.
On defense, I just have a ton of units. Counter Dizzy, Counter Charles, A. Ravi (who is getting a small buff at the end of the month), SSB, Corvus, Basar, C. Armin, A. Cidd, and probably others. My understanding at higher PvP levels is that defense is mostly just having the most annoying setup you can so folks skip you. Since there, folks will always have a counter on offense for the most part.
This morning I had the option of 3 arena teams with Violet and AssCart. All 3 I demolished in pretty short order. The only one I struggled with was one that had F. Ceci, but Violet was gone at that point and it was F. Ceci and Destina that were holding out. The other thing I was looking on on reddit arena stats and such and he's pretty low on the list. Not to say that he couldn't be fun for GW with AssCart and Mirsa or someone, but given that I'm out of Skystones, I'd have to grab the rank up packs to get him and I'm not sure that's worth it; especially with A. Cidd's buffs. He also can use moonlight dreamblade, is dark, and has some serious speed. Ideally I'd love to have Violet, the cost is just a bit high.
Right now my offensive team is J. Kise, A. Lots, Vildred, and SC Roozid. Vildred works amazing with the group since his CR is boosted if J. Kise gets anyone and if he finishes anyone off, it kicks off his S2. Also his +8 speed imprint is really great since A. Lots is only at 227 speed (almost all his gear is +10 speed, not idea how folks have 250+, yikes). SC roozid seems like the odd ball. He's not fast enough to do a CR push at the start and he has crappy speed gear so he really only helps with his speed imprint. I'm thinking about swapping him out for either:
1) C. Armin - would help with ML ken's and SSB's to help keep J. Kise alive for a 2nd round if needed.
2) C. Dom - Like Vildred, she'd get boosted by J. Kise and go right after. Since I don't have any defense breakers, could help finish bruisers off.
Ideally I'd love to throw a defense breaker like Bellona back in but getting her faster than A. lots would be a massive undertaking. SSB could be interesting but generally I fight many AoE folks that survive the first attack. 9 times out of 10 it's a bruiser or 2 like F. Ceci.

Everyone has forgotten about Shadowrose but she would be pretty great on your team instead of doggo.
Then you could run Bellona or Def break someone for Kise, but you would lose the imprint wars if A Lots isn’t fast enough. Or you could do S. Rose/Speed imprint/Def Break/Kise. Of couse that goes out the window if they are running immunity, which at your level you’re probably seeing a ton of.
Worst comes to worst you could turtle cleave with IseriaTam, as long as they are fast enough to not get like, lapped turn 1 Tam will drag up your def break and Kise to one shot.
There’s certainly some stuff you can do for sure, but Plat and up tends to get into the match up to matchup stuff. I’m more than happy plowing to gold three with my braindead cleave team, lol.
I posted on the general questions thread in reddit and looked at others asking the same thing and the consensus seems to be Violet is fun if you have him but far from required for anything. And Diene while limited has been crept pretty bad in PvP and for PvE Tam or Ang. Mpnt work fine as replacements.
I mean the whole "required" thing is true for pretty much everyone in the game. You can find ways to make most people work in the game. Violet is a top tier nat5 though is all I was getting at.
I mean I don't have fatcat for the violet fatcat shenannigans, I dont have ml lots, I dont have BBK or J Kise. I made into higher end master and could probably try 5 challenger but would get owned mos likely, just making what I had work. And then you have Ladyjubs up in challenger with like 110k cp Inquisitor, 100k cp Enott, both dingos and the like.
Given how it works and what it’s for, you pretty much want a single one completely maxed. The higher stats it gives, the more useful it is at keeping someone critical turtled.
My covenant went 5* hero. Which woke me up this morning. But it was a dupe in Lillias. I only have a few left at reg nat5 i havent got so I knew it was going to be a dupe heh.
I got Elena though last night and she seems fun. Ladyjubs said she came across a Diene Elena defense comp that was, according to her words, "stupid and big dumb face". But yeah that combo coupling could be brutal to deal with.
