What incredible hidden storylines and truths do your favorite podcasts hold?
Do you really need to play all 9 Kingdom Hearts games to truly understand the Waypoint podcast? Is there a hidden storyline if you analyze all the lyrics and read all the item descriptions in Punch Up The Jam? And what is the true, secret history of Dan Ryckert?
Dan would plant cocaine on his friends and call a cop on them, for laughs

Dan would, however, accidentally get hooked on cocaine by trying to do the cool 80s cop thing of sniffing/tasting white powder in crime scenes to confirm it's cocaine

I....
may or may not be doing this
(I skipped 1 and COM, and there are a couple that are just cinematics so I feel less bad about it? But I'm enjoying my time with them)

I'm closing in on the ending of 3 after doing this since January
If I don't know anything about kingdom hearts and don't listen to Waypoint Radio
am I going to understand what they're talking about
I.E. do they give enough context to follow
I haven't listened to the last couple of episodes, but they're doing it in chronological order instead of release order and I, as someone who literally played/watched all of those games in the last couple of months, had trouble following

I started early this month on 2, and I'm currently nearly done with Ventus in BBS (started Terra, still have to do Aqua). (I am going in the Nomura-Order and not chronologically)
I have until June or so before I have to give the ps4 back, so it's good to hear that I should have enough time.

Ah I'm good then
I was mostly interested as a way to know whwat the fuck my timeline means, ever, but if its not parsable I'm good
If you want a quick, condensed version, SGDQ 2019 is going to have a speed run of Kingdom Hearts 3 this summer, so you can get all of the story in that super quick

I mean I think we know someone who can provide a text explanation of it all

I've been reading them but they're hard to follow if I haven't actually played the games

as someone who dedicated a solid week to understanding the KH lore, I can confirm that Lore Reasons is hard to follow because they do a poor job of explaining KH
So, I have an 11 hour drive (and return) coming up in two weeks to pick up my future dog. My father is making the trek with me, and I need some podcast recommendations because I feel like my usual rotation of video game news, cynical histories of ancient dictators, and Canadian politics/global event shows won't appeal to him
My Dad likes dogs, learning stuff, bad sci-fi, and falling asleep to WWII documentaries like any other white baby boomer man
Does anyone have some podcasts they'd recommend, or conversely, any podcasts I should force my father to endure while he can't figure out how my media console works, and see how long it takes for him to threaten to turn my car around?
Del Toro is getting trounced which is really sad because I don't really care about anything Miller has made
I was confused about this, but then I remembered you didn't like Fury Road
At the very least I think the narrative of going from "Happy Feet 2" to "Fury Road" would make a good podcast, even if I would definitely prefer Del Toro

Alright.
isn't the whole thing of their strategy to put everything into one feed to optimize listenership
it's not like they focused the Waypoint Radio feed on just being about games, there was a 2 and a half hour podcast about cartoons last week
it is a perfect song!!
it's basically their second favourite song they've done behind You Oughta Know
is this the second episode in a row that Demi has referenced I Wish It Was Christmas Today

Sounds like you need to play the games
I hate myself but not that much
Every movie of his is a blank check how did this get made
Fury Road is an all time blank check, but you're right in totality Del Toro is much more interesting to talk about.

this is part of the fun!
Ben Hosley has to watch Pacific Rim
Ben Hosley HAS to watch Shape of Water
