I mean, I don't get overtime at my job. (I get "comp" time) but I also work for an agency that faciliates the people who make the laws, so of course I won't.
Yeah the FLSA specifically calls out movie theaters as exempt, but I have never been able to figure out a single reason why, other than maybe the FLSA was written when the film industry was exploding in the US and and the industry successfully lobbied for it. It used to take a ton of labor hours to keep a theater running to meet demand.
e: Wow there's some bizarre exemptions in there. No overtime if you're a computer programmer? No overtime if you work for a vehicle dealership?
Some are based on salary, and most commission-based industries are exempt.
that makes sense for the dealership exemption except that one also specifies mechanics working for dealerships as well as salespeople, so they managed to wiggle in bullshit there too
Turns out the Avengers’ plan to beat Thanos is to call John Wick
"They killed our cat."
"(Steve we don't have a cat)"
"(I'm talking about T'Challa Tony shut up)"
"(Is it problematic to refer to T'Challa as ours?)"
"(Tony)"
"(Or you know saying a black man is an animal is kinda--)"
"(Tony the forum user is just tired and overthinking the joke) So anyway when can you get here?"
"...you were on speakerphone."
This review seems about as fair as any critical review is going to be
It can't be anything more than emotional payoff

For those who like to go in to this in media blackout mode, the Guardian drops some pretty big plot bombs so just avoid them if you want to go in knowing nothing.

When I worked at a Cinemark after high school we were open for 72 hours for Transformers 2
Apparently AMC doesn't even have overtime?
That sounds illegal.

I'm not a lawyer, so those may be the wrong provisions it's referring to.

oh that's a good one, no overtime if you're engaged in making sugar or syrup out of maple sap!

No movie is worth this

Haven't most of the MCU movies been in the 70-80s? Except for maybe black panther?
There are a few 90's before this. BP, Thor 3, Homecoming.
Before going to bed, I have just two words:
During the pre-release hype?
Something I just thought of while waiting for Endgame:
You know how there was a running bit in the comics where the Avenger had a member on the Guardians? (Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Venom).
Which existing non-guardians character would you like to see in Guardians 3? (None is a viable answer, obviously)
