Doom Patrol is a DC comic book that debuted in 1963, about a reclusive, wheelchair-bound genius who recruits a group of freakish or disabled misfits to live in his manor, where he treats their maladies and trains them to help defend a world that fears and hates them.
If that sounds a lot like X-Men, well, it debuted the same month as X-Men #1. Go figure.
Like the X-Men, it lasted for about five or six years and was then cancelled, only to be revived and revamped years later with a new team and a new look.
But where the X-Men came back as an intricate sci-fi soap opera about twisty mazes of personal and familial relationships and straightforward allegories about minority struggle and high school drama, Doom Patrol came back as...something else.
Under the influence of avant-garde literature, 80s club music, chaos magic and lots of druks, UK writer Grant Morrison turned Doom Patrol into a surrealistic, phantasmagoric exploration of radical politics, art, altered consciousness, and gnostic unrealities.
Our guides to this strange world are a loveable crew of misfits!
It's one of my favorite comic books ever. My av comes from it.
AND NOW IT'S A TV SHOW

I agree but a the same time WB/DC is has largely been a trainwreck since Bale Batman the second. CGI has been the least of the problem :P

Bu-kaw Patrol
There is in fact an entire Cat-based version of the Paw Patrol. Except they are bad. Because that's how cats roll.
I wonder if there was ever a rival to International Rescue where they charges extortionate fees for their rescues.
:P
I liked how the actors wore hats identical to their pup’s. Nice touch, that.
Point of order, Grant Morrison turned everything he wrote in to this.
