...wow, I'm batting a zero tonight. You're right, its just obtain them all, and a single masterwork. Which will be an instant pop of the triumph if you've already reset your valor this season
I just looked at a chalice rune combo chart and I'm confused about the armor.
It looks like there's two Opulence armor sets? What?
And why are there combos for the Dreaming City set and then a random Forsaken set?
EDIT: Oh, one is a Y2 version of the Nessus gear. Meh.
There are 4 total sets because the Chalice has to be 4xN due to the way the rune slotting works
The Nessus set is there because it gives you a opulence mod slot (for crown of sorrow/leviathan mods) without requiring blue runes to be unlocked. The forsaken set and the dreaming city sets don't have those slots.
The idea was that the runes are slotting for what "kind" of armor you want, like light/recovery/heavy but that's pretty clearly bullshit once folks figured out what runes produce what.
Also I'm looking at these stupid green requirements and looking back fondly on like a month ago when we were complaining about 25 strikes requirement.
Is there a good Discord or other similar pick up group
Yeah, tell me about it. Hopefully now that the devs have publicly embraced the 'MMORPG' tag, they'll work in a proper LFG system for NFs and Raids.
Given the very low level of communication in this game, especially on console, compared to the coordination required and the way the NF works work difficulty settings and such, I don't see that happening.

If there were in-game support for external voice chat, or if the in-game voice chat were not hot garbage, I could see it working. As it is you'd have to spend the first 5 minutes of every game friend-requesting people to add them to voice parties, inevitably with some people lacking mic's or working audio.

The Xbox Live-level LFG incorporates Party Chat, no friending required. It's actually a pretty well implemented system, Bungie should take notes
Man, I hope this includes what's coming in on the New Light side of things. Been wanting a little more info about the new intro mission to the game other then it's existence.
Oh hey maybe with the extra time I'd actually have a chance to finish the damn Notorious Armor triumph seeing as balancing all the different Destiny grinds just got way harder with Solstice.
FOMO is real and I shouldn't have that reaction, but I do, so there it is.
I'm glad they could take the time that they feel they need. And I'm strangely excited now to read a Luke Smith diatribe next week.

Are they doing anything with subclass trees in New Light and Shadowkeep?

Not as far as they've said. One interview mentioned that it came up but there wasn't time or something to that effect. Basically no plans but it's been floated was a potential idea.
I'm glad they are taking the time they need but that date couldn't be worse for poor me. Bumped right onto my daughters birthday and the rest of that week my lab is enduring an audit so I'm going to be unable to take any days off...
Bright side is now I have 3 extra weeks to try and get a recluse.
so other night i finished main Forsaken campaign and got the message from the Robot/Calus in the tower where he gives you those two pieces of 690 gear
then i went in, equipped the 690 cloak, then realized 'oh i've got a bunch of blues to trash' so i trashed all my old gear, then when i was done thought 'oh yeah what was i doing, oh thats right the 690 blue i just got....'
so yeah i trashed one of my 690 pieces seconds after getting it

You can lock items to prevent dismantling them. Click in the right stick when inspecting the item or when hovering over it in your inventory. You can also lock/unlock them using apps like DIM or the Destiny Companion

i thought i accidentally trashed one of those blues and it was the worst feeling. An errant button press adding an hour or more to your grind. Feels bad man.
Does everyone get the Solstice armor at 700, automatically? If so, that would be pretty awesome.
The answer is yes. @Element Brian it should be pretty easy to get 700 armor in about 5 minutes if you do the quest from Eva (she’s smack dab in the middle of the tower).
Guardians ever eager to make armor of some garbage bags and fiberglass insulation they found under a pile of old paint cans in storage shed. Seems like that will protect you from the hive!
10 gambit matches and I have the damn warlock armor. Mentioned the engineers that accompany the three Cabal bosses count towards the 100, so the two randoms with me decided to hunker down and talk about TV and such while we killed about 40, 50+ of them. Was nice to get that all done in one go.
@GMaster7 we need a title update. Sept. 17 is not happening anymore, it's October 1st now. Which messed up my PTO and stuff, but at least there was time to get it all changed today...

Now that I’m pretty close I’ve started backing out to avoid 4 stacks, and it’s been pretty effective.
It’s frustrating tho that the best strategy is to only play 3 games a week to maximize the impact of the weekly boost

I don't think I've ever felt that much stress in a raid before. But got it done on second attempt.

It’s green armor, do not delete it.
this titan armor is so god damn sick
that warlock armor, unfortunately, is sick. it has a disease and is on life support

After getting a taste of the Solstice event, I don't think I care at all and I'm going to bring my Hunter up to level instead of playing it.
Also this is world class trolling, which I guess I should have expected.

Also, updated catalyst checklist:

On that note, I now have all catalysts except the kinetic ones done.
You did good, son. You did good. I'm... proud of you.
(also now you better be running that thing all the time just to enjoy your victory.)
All that hard work was worth it though: you finally got that MIDA catalyst.
