It came up somewhere else but I want to appreciate out loud how good a piece of writing "A Lannister always pays his debts" is.

It's also interesting how those aren't the official Lannister words.

Yeah, everybody's always forgetting the real words, "Pumps and a bump, pumps and a bump, we like the girls with the pumps and a bump"

Is this a bit you’ve been saving

    I never save my bits

    Fire and forget, baybee

    Is this also a bit

    Ah the Targaryan words

Edit: "Fire and Forget, baybee" being the Targaryan words. "Is this also a bit" being the Tyrell words because they get dunked on a bunch

i'd be right there with you except he is severely lacking in the one-liners department

    all his dialog is terrible

but the hair, the face, the voice... and the strutting... that's definitely 100% Kano

Is it normal for lawyers to do that? Isn't that something an agent would normally do? Do writers have agents? How does tv work?

I had an agent for a while, until negotiations broke down between the ATA (trade association for agents) and the Writer's Guild union. The interests of agents and writers have been knocked out of alignment, and agents didn't have much interest in correcting that. So the Writer's Guild voted to collectively fire all our agents. Agents would normally handle negotiations, but managers and lawyers are negotiating the majority of deals this staffing season.

It ain't great! I like my agent a lot, and would love to work with him again, but agencies have been kinda screwing over their clients for a while. There's a ~4-minute primer on it here, for anybody curious about nitty-gritty showbiz shit

Honest less snide answer. I just finished out a job with a fairly major American art museum that did an exhibit on the recontextualization of superhero imagery. They commissioned me to do comic that went alongside the exhibit. It was wild.

White collar professional services have had a major issue with conflicts of interest for a while. While in many cases they can be unavoidable, for the past 20 years there's been an overt move towards treating "transparency" as some kind of cure-all that magically removes the issue. Evidence has shown that in fact, the opposite is the case - declaring a conflict of interest but maintaining the business relationship tends to lead towards more exploitation of the position, not less. This seems to be true for everything from banking to legal representation.

    They were not.
