Remember, if you have Rico's Wingsuit accessory, it gives a mirage stack at the beginning of the fight so it'll nullify the preliminary attack. If you're going in for the OTKO for the no deaths mission then that'll be enough to keep someone alive without fully gearing them for evade.

I.might try it again with a full evade team. ALass, ALass friend, Kryla, and Myra. Just to get the no deaths mission.

The DoT will bypass evasion. It's only good to get you past the preemptive. You'll still need a decent DEF or a ton of mitigation to survive the DoT effect.

I have no idea how the dot works. Doing it again turn 2 only hits for half health, turn 3 almost kills both A. Lasswells, turn 4 kills one. Each turn i’m healing to full and rebuffing with DM. Seems weird.

Yeah, I'd really like to know what they were thinking with this boss. My Sylvie, with 16k HP and around 800 DEF was one shot by the preemptive attack. That's just ridiculous. Full evade (or Rico's Wingsuit) or die is not good design. The DoT prettu much killed everyone else afterwards.

This is reminding me of the original Skeleton King release. Sure, some people could do it, but it was massively overtuned. That preemptive attack needs to be adjusted.

According to the in-game tips, the preemptive attack is most likely supposed to be Fire elemental. If it were, fire resist would help in surviving it a ton. As is, yeah, pretty much only evade units or tanks are going to survive the preliminary.

Just wait until we get to face this asshole in the Chamber of the Vengeful.

Guys, I need some help deciding about getting the EU bundle.

I have 54000 lapis. I have one Kryla and one Aloha Lasswell. Last time I had the chance of getting Kryla I got Zarg to upgrade him to level 7 and finally had a counter for attacks with stop.

Now, Aloha Lasswell is not a time limited unit, so I assume I might get another one later.

Should I get 2 krylas with the bundle? Do you guys think kyrla's prism eventually show up at the trust exchange shop (in order to get her stmr)? Or should I just get one Kryla and one Aloha Lasswell (I already have enough damage dealers: Cg Lighting, Zeno and Esther).

I think it is worth 10k, but not 20k.. Or is it?

    Thanks for the help!
You never know. I doubt we will see Kayla's prism anytime soon since she is available now. As for ALasswell, you might never see another one. Reberta was one of my earliest rainbows and I've only had the one for over 2 years. Honestly, I would only go for the bundle if you have a need for that role or really plan to use them now or in the near future.

Turns out I realized that Kryla makes the dispelga trick useless and has runic. So I got her 7 star. Now I need to think if I should gamble getting a third one and wait for her prism or get a second Aloha Lassell.

    Thanks for the help!

This youkai trial, what the fuck? I have a team of 7* units. Top tier, all of them. How am I wiping in 2 turns?

  • ZomroZomro Registered User regular
Well, I did kill him with no deaths, but I didn't get an LB kill. Bumped Sylvie to 22k HP and almost 900 DEF to survive the preemptive attack. Combining her physical DR with Rena's overall DR (Rena has a cheat death passive), I could survive the tbe DoT afterwards. Don't know if I could've survived any more damage after that, because I wound up putting the boss to sleep and then paralyzing it with Loren using Chaos Grenade, Venomous Edge and Assassin's Dagger. Two A.Lasswells then killed him way too fast for me to charge an LB.

I really don't want to do that again, but I didn't get the katana for the LB kill. I hope they retune the fight, so it's nor such BS.

Got the youkai. Got the weapon mission.

The trick is stun-lock. Toxic Rain on turn 1. On turn 3, I did Toxic Rain again with Rikku's TMR ability. Youkai stayed paralyzed.

[edit] And equip your healer with the guts materia. Then pray she doesn't die. It only took me 200 energy. At least my failures were short.

He's pretty damn worth it. Damage a bit higher than Zeno, but Zeno has higher burst damage. So, it really depends on what you value in a damage dealer - reliable, consistent high damage with 100% (or close to it) physical evade, or higher burst damage that can potentially skip mechanics in harder fights without HP lock thresholds.

If you don't have Zeno, then Aloha Lasswell is a great pickup, especially since his TMR is nuts now.

That worked. Still didn’t get the no ko one. My Esther had 16k hp and 600 def, with zargs 30% dm, and Sylvie’s 25% physical dm. Along with her buffs, my full health Esther died to the DOT on turn 3...

If you want to cheese it like I just did, use a Kryla build kinda like this

Hide until the initial DOT wears off, then cycle Impending Doom & Eye Of Doom along with all of her Brew moves to maximize imperils. Hide if you get hit with Sick Burn or Melting Candle until that DOT wears off. She will be immune to all else.

Who do you have for your breaker/support? It really depends on your team and what resources you have available.

Also, UoC will be come less valuable and lapis will become more valuable in the near future with summon fest banners.

Against my better judgment, I reinstalled this game last week and have been gradually digging myself out of the hole I left my account in when I quit. For reference, I stopped playing right around when Esther and Sylvie were released.

I have the following as my "core" party:

    6* Basch
    7* MS Nichol
    6* Ayaka
    7* Machina
    7* Hyoh

Potentially notable 6*/7* units I have available:

    6* Aloha Lasswell
    6* Circe
    7* Elfreeda
    6* HT Lid
    6* Kryla
    6* Malphasie
    6* Merc Ramza
    6* Sylvie

I have 30 UoC tickets to my name.

Looking at unit rankings, I get the sense that my biggest gap is on the damage-dealing side of things. Hyoh was great when I quit, but has clearly been surpassed in the intervening months. That said, I'm much better-equipped for TDH than TDW.

IIRC, we get our other batch of anniversary tickets on the 29th(?) My plan is to pull all of those and then likely fill in the gaps with UoC.

Also, a shitton of new progression systems have been added since I left. I want to make sure I'm doing all of those, so let me know what I'm missing from my list here:

    -rewards wheel
    -daily quests
    -expeditions (including trust expeditions)
    -arena dailies (10 orbs)
    -Chamber of Enlightment (once daily)
    -Chamber of Challenges (weekly)

Let me know if there's anything I'm missing, or if my priorities are out of whack.

I don't know the details of the "comeback campaign", but you may want to look into that. Even if you have to email support about it, since it's basically a free UoC, where you could pick up Esther. Then use 1 UoC on another, allowing you to be all set DPS wise for awhile. Also the 10K bundle in the shop would serve you well, as you could 7* A. Lasswell and Kryla (better breaker than Machina). That would give you 2 colorful lei's which are really good now and would set your A. Lasswell up in a good TDW position.

As for what to do, I do the reward wheel, as I can do it while playing something else, the expeditions as the relics are now good for crafting Esper boosting orbs, and the Chamber of Challenges since it boosts unit parameters past the default. If I remember, I'll do the Chamber of Enlightment, though I normally forget and don't really care. Sounds like they are working on a better system for EP anyways. I don't do Arena anymore as it's too much of a pain with the restrictions and not really that great of rewards (overflowing in pots).

Probably the only fun thing that's been added has been the Chamber of Vengeance, which has decent rewards, but is a hard boss battle that you need to use 25 units for. It forced me to dig deep into the bench to find units I never use that could help contribute a bit. Otherwise, the game itself isn't really in a better spot than when you left. There's only been 2-3 new trials and GLEX powercreep is real.

What the shit is this? I just pulled a Sephiroth from a random 4* ticket. I pulled a Sephiroth not too long ago. Not even a week. Why is it that when I pull I a rainbow unit, there's like a 30% chance I pull the exact same unit within a week?

I have Loren and CG Lid. They're okay. CG Lid is arguably a top-tier breaker. It's just, breaking is all they do.

[edit] As for support. I have Sylvie. I also have Myra, and she's a very good support unit in addition to being a healer. I have CG Nichol, though it's getting to the point where he's powercrept. I have a bunch of other units that are definitely powercrept, like Eiko and Rem. As for tanks, I have most of them except Charlotte. I have Basch, Sieghard, WKN, Awakened Rain, Beryl, and Wilhelm.

Honestly, Kryla is an amazing breaker that has some extra utility in her imperils and some chaining support (single cast). I think Fid is probably going to be a better support/breaker because she offers healing, imperils, MP recovery, revive - overall much better utility. How many UoC do you have?

I went back and cheesed the no KO mission on the Lantern boss. I used Xon (Rico Wingsuit, Lie Low, and Bad Breath) and Kryla (100% evade and Concealing Cloth) for extra ailments and damage. If you go this route, make sure to keep hiding until turn 11 when the DoT falls off.

Yeah as much as having 7* kryla would be fun, I'll just wait and see if her prism shows up in 3-6 months. I have just about every breaker but FID, so I think I'd make do. Also I really like her for her Neutralizing Chant, but trying it out, it doesn't work against DOT's. Also not sure if it'll work against these new bosses super ailments or not.

I think holding on to my 10K is going to end up being better in the long run. I'd assume we'll see new GLEX units for Halloween and Christmas. Since I'm not doing dailies or arena all the time, and GUMI has given up on fountain of lapis, I have to be a bit more careful with my lapis.

DoTs are specifically coded to not be dispellable (including Kaito's DoTs, which can't be dispelled now). Her nullifying chant should be able to remove ailment imperils, but that doesn't really matter since most bosses use their ailment imperils and then immediately use the ailments.

So, apparently if you build Reberta for LB damage and are able to hit her LB every other turn, she's right around Esther levels of damage. Her LB is only 24 crysts, so hitting it every other turn shouldn't be difficult with some LB support. If you run entrusting supports/healers then it'll be even easier to keep up.

Which makes me sad because I love her model and really want to put her in my party, but so far its just been for everyday repeat content that any unit could really do.

130K plus 5 or 6 full UoC's you can do either without much impact. UoC 1 FID or use 10K for Kryla. Which ever one fits your team best. If I remember, some of the upcoming trial strategies call for 2 healers, which is where units like FID will shine since she can break and heal. Same for Myra with buffing and healing.
