40k tactics as seen on the board games, so far as I can see, consists of the finest soldiers and technology in all of creation, balled up in to one big mob and thrown in the general direction of any problem.
Anyone with any friends that are 40k war game fans should give them 40K Monopoly for Christmas/Birthday.
Imagine the gritted teeth.
Those tokens are offensive. You have a board game with a miniature wargame IP, what should you use for tokens? Definitely not smaller versions of some of their miniatures! Just some random trash that doesn't look good in pewter.
I find it hilarious, especially since Baba Yaga translates to "Old hag."
It's less that and more Baba Yaga is like the ur-boogeyman in Slavic culture who features in a ton of myths and legends that outright terrifies all those famous heroes because she can either help or hinder them on a whim, and gods help the ones who decide to be disrespectful to her because she can make them pay very dearly for any perceived slight.
In the 40k vein, I really think Mechanicus captured the feel of the universe superbly well. It’s too bad I suck something awful at that game. I’m not sure why but even the earliest levels are hard for me. My wishlist is more something like Titanfall, but in the 40k world for the huge construct and titan combat in that universe against other titans and hordes of ground troops.
General opinion is that earliest levels are the hardest in Mechanicus. Your dudes get super crazy as you level them up too. Like max out Lex Mechanic on one and suddenly you can fill your cognition gauge every couple rounds and gain more every time you kill a target. So then go down Dominus and use all that free cognition to launch crazy super weapons and then recover it via murder. Particularly the most popular starting classes for your first two dudes is Lex Mechanic and Enginseer. Healing and free cognition is hard to beat.
As far as 40k games go, I will be forever disappointed Martyr is the current biggest Inquisitor game. Would have at least liked something like Shadowrun Returns, if not a bigger RPG. Of course, I'm still bitter that game was such a buggy mess at release considering it's price point.
I still need to grab CSH when it's on sale... and no Paws? Then who will I ship the portable feline-driven gift-a-pult to to really help save the festivities?

I enjoyed PA3 from Zeboyd, and am currently playing Cosmic Star Heroine. It's pretty solid. What surprises me is that there are no walkthrough on Steam or Gamefaqs. And, being that I'm currently stuck and can't figure out how to make the plot advance, I find this a little annoying.
Hoo-boy I'm glad I didn't pay full price for that. That was...infuriatingly short.
Seems to be act 1? How long did it last?
Took me roughly 2.5 hours to go through.
I like the characters, and for a point-and-click it wasn't too frustrating, but the Strife bits are terrible even for a Hussie-a-holic, and I can't help but feel like it was Act 1 of 15, in regards to the amount of ground they covered.

I think they get lost in the crowd a bit now that we're not exactly hurting for RPG releases on the PC that revisit game styles of the past.

That CK2 bundle is so good! Seriously, if you have any interest at all in role playing games, pick up at least the $1 bundle. It's one of those games where even if you end up as an incompetent imbecile with no idea what you're doing, you're still going to have a good time

So... Baba Yaga-chan will be a tsundere?
You are an awful person and thank you so much for this mental image.

Much like Eve Online for me, CK II always turns out more fun to read about than to play.
Maybe if I, you know, learned how the hell to play the game that change...maybe one day!

Bored games.
I managed to avoid the 40k craze and stick to Deadzone/Dreadball, which kept my wallet much happier.
Imagine the gritted teeth.
Better idea would be to gift them Blood Bowl 1 or 2 on Steam.
Or Space Marine.
Or any of the 40k video games.
PS. I still want a game where I can play as a Rogue Trader.

Too late, I already only play the computer games.
Others are sort of borderline, like Space Hulk. You kind of have a board, it's just made up of interlocking pieces.

Fuck yes.
Uncharted Waters 2 in the vein of 40k?

I should probably give some of their stuff another try sometime. I've fallen off both one of the PA games they did and Cosmic Star Heroine.
"Baba Yaga-chan"
*retching noises*
Rebel Galaxy?
I find it hilarious, especially since Baba Yaga translates to "Old hag."
Gift that Monopoly game to @Viking he would get so mad.
I don't play their games, but I bought them since they were forumers.
Same, I'll definitely buy them, at a minimum.

Its probably never getting a sequel and that would probably bug me if I end up getting hooked on it.

I HATE grinding in games.
But for some reason I end up doing it anyway.
Currently I've been doing the EXP grinding in AssOdd.
I just NEED those Mastery passives.
Also it sates my bloodlust, by letting me kill some fools quickly instead of chasing them down. :P
At this rate I'll probably finish the game by Christmas
