So, I got Prey just as the sale ended, and been having fun being paranoid of every little object in every room I walk into.
Just got to the Aterium, and while I'm trying very hard not to look up any spoilers or even walkthroughs about stuff I might have missed, I do want to ask a yes/no question on one theory:
There's some The Nameless One past incantations shenanigans going on isn't there? Perhaps with a dash of Total Recall?
I'm suspecting there is already 4, the original Morgan Yu who agreed with all this, represented by Alex, the one who built December who just planned on saving their own skin, the one who built January with the idea of going for self-sacrifice to save humanity if everything went to shit, and me. And I'll be disappointed if there isn't another month were I set up a completely different plan.
This thread still always makes me smile when I see the gift bombs. 💣
I'm been doing the ketogenic diet since Christmas. But I still can't get used to black coffee. Bleh. Terrible. Makes mornings a lot less fun. I went to bed at 10pm last night...
Looking forward to the Hearthstone reveal stream this afternoon.
There's a new F13 patch coming (already out on console) and reading the people talking about it so far is hilarious with all the things it broke. That coming to PC is going to be a nightmare headache.
Hide or Die beta left a lot to be desired imo. That game feels super incomplete so far.
Torchlight Frontiers Alpha is kind of fun but feels very repetitive. The enemies are super generic too. I've played a lot of ARPGs but none of them can ever replicate the feeling that Diablo II had & I'm starting to think a lot of it now is just because it's not 2000 anymore, I'm not 17-18 years old anymore, and I'm not playing with friends anymore as everyone got older, had kids & has a lot less free time now.
I will probably relearn that same lesson when I try Classic WoW later in August when it re-releases.
Hi, Steam people. 👋
Get an Aeropress setup and a Burr Grinder, you'll never need sugar again.

Glad I was able to help!
A purposely vague answer in which I could read almost anything into it is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!

The obvious solution is to never play a new game.
There's already the thing where it says something like "KoopahTroopah has served the Newell now owns 23 more games". Surely that's enough!

When I open a new window (with a middle-click) in the Steam client now, the window doesn't appear in the taskbar as something I can switch to. If I click off to something else, or the main Steam window, the new window is just hidden behind stuff but I can't get to it via the taskbar.
That's rather annoying. I wonder if it was a Steam update, or Win10's 1903 update, or something like that.

Oh yeah, also, there's a lobby system while you're waiting for the game to populate and there's a campfire off to the side with a no dancing sign next to it. So obviously lots of people go over there to dance. It's great.
Is there any grouping in this game, or is it all solo?
I bought the bundle for Crusader Kings 2 because I want the DLC. If anyone wants a key for the base game, send me a PM.

I noticed the steam codes didn't get grabbed earlier so I didn't bother putting mine up. I think I'll have to hunt someone down and force it down their throat!

There's Solo and Duos right now, and I believe on Friday they're adding back in Squads, which is 4 players, I believe.

Someone had mine, eventually. (Probably scrapers, but who knows.) The expansions went first. Not really a surprise, I think most of us have base CK2 by now.
It's a hell of a thing to try to explain to someone completely uninitiated.
"So there's this video game. It's a medieval grand strategy thing with a focus on families and intrigue and stuff. It's very highly regarded. It came out seven years ago, and since then it's had all these expansions that add all sorts of different things. At full price it's around £250 for all of that, and yes, I know that sounds crazy but remember that was piecemeal over seven years.
"There's also this website that does these bundles for charity. And look, here's that game with all these expansions. All the important ones, anyway. Fifteen of them. And you can get the lot for £12 and change.
"How does that site afford it? They have a deal with the publisher, who might make a lot less per copy but they sell an absolute ton of copies, and create a lot of goodwill doing it. Even these publishing companies aren't averse to charity now and again.
"And here you can choose where your money goes. And you can pick which charity you donate to. Any that is on the PayPal Giving Fund. So ones from all around the world, big and small, national and local, and for all sorts of causes.
"And look, here's my local cat rescue that I'm kind of on the periphery of (and know how damn hard they work) and like to support where possible. So I'm giving it all to them."
Seriously, I literally had that conversation today (if slightly paraphrased). A mind was basically completely blown. It's great.

I just told my friends that it was a game where you could have incestual relationships and murder your siblings for the glory of your kingdom and they were hooked because I know my friends.

I love X-Com: well almost all the X-Com's but I never pulled the trigger on X-Com 2 because I am a cheap ass and played the hell out of the 2012 release and it's expansion. Looks like the entire bundle is $34.75 probably time to get in right?

Actually you just missed a pretty good sale for XCOM 2 + WOTC but that's still an excellent price and you should go for it.

Overall it's a fantastic but disappointing entry. The Terror Twins are awesome, awkward, nazi-murdering nerds in power armor setting out in Neu-Paris to help the Resistance and find their dad. Once you establish yourself with the Resistance, you'll sally forth from the catacombs to take down Nazis in the various districts as you look to find the location of Lab-X.
The twins quickly go from newbie jitters to murder machines, able to be customized anyway you like with only a small difference in customized weapons which are easily mitigated by the influx of silver coins. Of course the main draw is the ability to coop and take down nazis together which is done mostly seamlessly. You'll stealth and take down enemies with grisly animations or go in guns blazing (probably the latter after the former fails) and give each other peps that do little interactions and boosts to keep each other motivated. You'll cheer each other on while taking down your foes giving a good sense of teamwork. While the AI continues to operate until the new player is loaded, the new player will frequently start back at the beginning of the level/last checkpoint suddenly leaving you alone in a very coop game. Players can jump in and out at any time but can only communicate via voice chat (no text chat) and a ping system that only lets you tag enemies (seriously, ping systems via Vermintide/Apex Legends/Risk of Rain 2 should be pretty mandatory IMO).
Along with some light RPG elements, not all nazis are alike as you'll need to use appropriate weapons to break through their armor (heavy or light) before you can start doing damage to the juicy core. Which is fine, if they had a better balance on the weapon piercing as there are a slew of options for dealing with light armor but heavy armor had far less making it just mandatory to go back to the rifle till you could deplete armor. A good system but in need of better balance.
Alas the game is not very long, the campaign clocking in at about 10 hours and that being minimal level grinding to be the appropriate level for the boss. Also the microtransactions are there, tempting you to speed up an already quick game or look the coolest (most things can be bought with silver coins but a few are bought with nazi gold, only ran into one player who had bought the latter though since the grind isn't too bad).
It's too bad because I really like the player characters and would love to see them in a meatier game, but there are like 10 maps in all with the only reason to return to do various side missions and daily challenges. There just doesn't feel enough to warrant doing that unless you just really like the world.
Wait for a deep sale and get the buddy pass version if you have a buddy you want to play with.
Alas the news of a game hub for the upcoming Doom Eternal has me wary of that now.
Bethesda, what are you doing?
Still, thanks for @Heatwave for gifting me Youngblood! I did enjoy the awkward dancing/playing in elevators to alt history 80s synth.
