i think it's a very neat card but i think that it's ultimately got too many hoops to get through for what is ultimately an incredibly fair payoff, and that's where it kills it for me
when you want to jump through that many hoops you want something BACKBREAKING - it's basically the entire pitch of the Gates deck, they contort their decks around these weird, bad lands in order to enable ridiculous draw engines AND beefy boys AND recursive boys AND even a li'l lifegain
this is a bunch of hoops to get a 2/2 every turn...eventually.

At first I thought it was Dunes of the Dead but as a lord (eg, "whenever a land you control is put into the graveyard from the battlefield, poop out a zombo") and was much more excited for that because they'd been messing around with lands-in-yards themes lately and that'd make for a much more timely payoff for scapeshift.
As is it's a neat card that you might throw in a commander deck that likes tokens, maybe.

Hmmm. I feel like this can't help but be at least decent. At worst you're getting the front half of Lingering Souls. Unconditional removal on a body can't be ignored, even if it is pricey; they have to risk their best creature or waste removal on a 1/1, and you still get it's token leftover.

also like, does that cat have the Leyline ability? If I could start the game with a wasp-shitting cat on my side of the battlefield, it'd probably increase my win percentage a fair bit.
Constructed-tier card when it was first released. Wonder if it'll fit into anything in Standard.
decks would need to play creatures :rotate:
but in all seriousness, it's still a constructed level card, rotation is gonna be quite impactful so we'll see in 3 1/2 months

Fuck your... tokens or Goblins I guess? Might really screw up a mono-Green Nissa player, blow all their Forests away (I don't know why I'm evaluating every card w/r/t how it works with or against Nissa)
Suck a dick, Luminous Bonds, we old school now. Also I really liked Pulse of Murasa the first time around, happy to see it back and making RDW sad.
Blightbeetle doesn't stop Nissa right? Since they gain the counters as a land then become a creature?
Correct. It would only stop further +1/+1 counters from being placed on them.
Ahh interesting.
Ya I noticed this interaction in reverse kinda using a simic ascendancy deck for the counters event. Nissa lands wouldn't give ascend counters, but then the eot proliferate would count
Yeah, I thought that was weird too, seeing as how (going by Arena, which as far as I can determine only has cards that are in standard right now) there are zero cards with protection. Speaking of returns...

And that's me saying a card isn't very good!

Simic lobster men too I think?

Hey! Remember Rod of Ruin? Yeah, Rod of Ruin is back! In wand form!
Colored equipment returns!
