I enjoyed war3 but it seems so hard now. I've tried to learn it a bit but something about it feels beyond me. probably because of my old decaying brain.

The hell? StarCraft 2 is more challenging than WarCraft 3.
Contrary to popular belief, I don't think it's necessarily bad to criticize a former employer. You just have to couch it in professional and diplomatic language.
"Company X was moving in a direction that I felt would increase stress on customers and on our talent over the long term. I did my best to steer us towards a different strategy that I thought would work better, but ultimately I decided that I'd be better off at a different organization."
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.
while i strongly believe in letting people off the subway first, standing on the right of the escalator etc, i enjoy the stuttering rage of natives and so i hope tourists continue to be fuckups
As the weekend approaches and DC becomes more and more crowded for Memorial Day weekend, we face the last year of Rolling Thunder. Normally the event starts in a parking area next to the Pentagon, but every year there’s friction between the bikers and Pentagon staff. Cost for renting the space is over $30,000 and the veterans org handling the bikers is leaving the big event into the hands of various local smaller groups. So next year instead of filling Constitution Ave with bikers they will do events in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. They feel this will better fulfill their purpose in raising awareness of veterans issues
If I think my boss is making a huge mistake how strongly should I fight it?
How strongly should I just start talking to recruiters instead?
I'd say try to help if you can
Alright, well the situation here is that he wants to do something I think will be a debacle, but he’s already gone to the board directly about it and pitched it as The Thing That Fixes Our Website. My opinion was not sought before he got to this point, he’s excited about something because its marketing materials said all the right words and now it’s what we have to do. Never mind the fact that the last time he did this we had to roll it back and it’s still in a terrible state, and I’m worried it’s coming to the point where I’m having to accept that he’s just like this, he’s just going to live in an idealized state of wanting all the shiny toys and never looking at the reality of how they are making a mess for us.

Do you have an email telling your boss that you don't think it's a good idea?
Eh, it's not exactly that kind of a situation. It's a small company, my corporate hierarchy is me -> my boss -> CEO -> board. I'm not really concerned with long-term stability, it's been assumed for a long time that 2 years would be a long time for me to be with the company.
Its sad to say that Starcraft is now Blizz most well run franchise. That is where we are at now heh.
How is Overwatch not better run than Starcraft?
I mean I guess there is the OW pro league here. But the SC2 pro league is one of the biggest ones in the world still. And we just have 1 and 2 in terms of story and lore. Story in WC has been missing for a long time now and Diablo is... well we all remember the last blizzcon.
tbh i'm p tourist forgiving, for the most part. i used to work in philly, a block from the liberty bell. i used to work in penn station in nyc. i used to work in a cafe on a main artery in tel aviv. i am used to all the awful tourist tropes. more than anything i would generally be happy and uplifted by seeing gawking tourists, like- oh man, they are enjoying my city. that is so rad. are they on vacation? i wonder if this is their first day here. i wonder if this is their last day here. i remember when this skyline stopped me in my tracks, or whatever. it was a nice thing for me, even pushing through all the agog white teenage girls getting off the acela in nyc, 6am, bleary eyed after a night of drinking as i prepare to make smoothies all morning.
but some shit is fairly unforgivable. if you're in line to get a metrocard from a kiosk, you literally have nothing else to do for a couple minutes. you can watch the example of the many people in front of you. you can take out your wallet. when it's something mundane like that, it seems clear that you're not just unlearned or overwhelmed- you're just, in your own world, not trying to live cooperatively with others in the most basic way. that is the one that's always stuck in my head as something i can't really rationalize or give the benefit of the doubt.

Man, I work in an office where everyone else either A) has a second significant source of income and/or still lives with their parents. They constantly want to go out to lunch, and it makes me feel like a poor when I don't go out to eat with them, but when I do go out to eat with them, it fills me with existential dread because all I can think about is that my bank account has less than I feel entirely comfortable with (I'm not broke, but I'm also well aware of my ~1 unexpected bill aware from destitute situation).
@Brody that sucks bro. You're the normal one and they're being insensitive.
I mean, they aren't dicks about it anymore. The first couple of times I stayed at the office they gave me some shit about not going with, but when I pointed out that I'm the only income for our family they chilled out.

I told my current job that I felt like my job would be gone one day, because that was shotgunned and spread out.
Also, because 3 of my 4 interviewers used to work there and all knew exactly what I was saying.
Anyone else think these Chipotle commercials are like POV porn before the fucking? Just me? ok
No
Acting is too good
I dunno man some of these step siblings totally sell me on they are surprised their step parent/sibling has their dick out. They are almost on par with person trying to tell me that chipotle makes food fresh.
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Did you hold the door for her?
Professionally, politely try steer him right.
Meanwhile, polish up resume and search for new job.
I always feel much better leaving a job knowing that I at least tried to make things better.
I also think it makes future interviewing easier.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
In DC this mostly means being glared at.
Except the times it's literally murder.
I only beat it by using cheats.

As someone who works off 395 and for the DoD this is incredibly welcome news.

Kind of presumptuous imo saving someone from a horde of ice zombies. It kind of says “I don’t think you can handle 500 living dead without my help”.
