Then it should be a sister-game, not Overwatch 2 IMO. I mean I kind of lost the thread of Overwatch's plot because, well, I suck at it, so I don't play it anymore, and also a teenager yelled at me about maining Junkrat and he was mean to me...but anyway maybe there is some kind of plot progress that can only happen in a sequel, I dunno, but why not roll out a PvE-centric Overwatch to sit alongside the original Overwatch and support both?

Releasing an Overwatch 2 seems really...quick, to me. And releasing an Overwatch 2 that has different gameplay from Overwatch 1 seems like it would be an odd choice to me, too.

They've got an assortment of hosts for each segment tomorrow. One of them is going to be up for a couple of them, so hopefully he's the awkward one that we can laugh at so when he comes back for the 2nd segment we get that classic "oh no not again" moment.

Personally I'm of the mind that Overwatch 2 could do both just fine. They've already cut their PvP teeth with Overwatch 1 so I could see them easily expanding the PvE side of things for a sequel while keeping the PvP stuff people enjoy as an additional option.

Plenty of FPS games have had fun singleplayer/co-op stuff while having a robust multiplayer PvP experience.

Hell, if Blizzard wanted to be lazy (you can say a lot about Blizzard, but lazy isn't one of them) they could just import all the maps and modes from Overwatch 1 to the sequel and focus their attention on the PvE.

Dead Space probably not going to happen for like ten years, if that. Or if they sell the property off.
According to Zach Wilson, who worked at Visceral during the production of Dead Space 2 and Battlefield Hardline, the former game’s budget was $60 million. To put that in perspective, Mass Effect 2, which came out a few weeks before Dead Space 2 in January 2011, is rumoured to have cost around $40 million to make. But while Mass Effect 2 sold 7 million copies in three months, Dead Space only managed 4 million copies.

Wilson goes on to say that that figure simply “wasn’t enough.” By the time studios have factored in the cost of marketing, cuts taken by console manufacturers and retailers, and the fact that discounts will have driven up sales, developers are lucky to see half the cost of their game returned.
