I always liked my Bloodborne characters... at least from certain angles.

Comparison of the character models from Elden Ring and DS3
(Spoilered of course)
The difference is... significant
The Souls games have never been....let's say graphical powerhouses.
I wouldn't say that. DS3 and BB look really good. Is the character and world design hiding a spotty engine? Probably. But I've not looked at a FSC game and thought "Good God does this not look good."
. . .SEKIRO, my least favorite of their work, looked really good. From what I've seen of ER, it honestly looks like they really tried to update the engine to match what HM is seeing in his mind when he conceives of games.
I can’t wait for Monster Factory to get ahold of this game
Is Monster Factory still a thing?! I didn't think they were making new episodes. I've almost died laughing on my couch from some of their episodes.
They’ve made a video as recently as late 2020! They take breaks sometimes, but yeah, still a thing.

I reaaaally hope they fix that exploit in DS3 and Elden Ring, because playing online is a huge part of these games to me.

There have been a number of high profile, devastating exploits across nearly the entire spectrum of online devices over the past six to nine months. These vulnerabilities are not unique to Dark Souls 3/Elden Ring, and are present/have been present in pretty much any and every device or service you may have used in the past year or two.
The only difference between now and when Dark Souls 3 released is that the exploits are now public, and any script-kiddy can botnet you if you're using unsecured services (instead of just governments and organized crime).
Use difficult to crack passwords (12+ character phrases are best right now, eg H0rseR4ceW!nner), format windows every year or so, don't reuse passwords, check your bank account every month, check your data usage every month, hover over URLs to check for phishing attempts, don't install weird browser extensions, don't give apps on your phone permissions for things it doesn't need. Credit report tools are also very useful; sucks to go to close on a house, only to find your credit score is tanked due to identity theft.

The exploit wasn't unique to Dark Souls 3, it was all the Dark Souls games. Supposedly it didn't effect BB because BB uses a different server architecture. All the Dark Souls games shared servers via Bandai Namco. It was a combination of something going on with the Dark Souls servers and the client (game) itself.
I have no idea what "don't re-use passwords" has to do with a remote code execution exploit? Yes, everyone should be using a password manager and cryptographically random passwords in the year of our lord 2022...but that has nothing to do with a RCE that lets a hacker take control of your computer.

The point of all exploits are essentially the same, which is steal value from you and/or your hardware. I made a statement that your hardware and identity is not safe, particularly in the wake of the great deal of recent exploits, and listed a number of steps that are helpful in determining if you've been hacked, and preventing you from getting hacked.
I don't know, that seems pretty helpful considering we're talking about an exploit that has likely existed for a good deal of time on a game that most of the people in this thread have played.

The real danger of an RCE is them installing something like a keylogger/clipboard sniffer/browser extension exploit to your machine, which will effectively defeat any password management strategy you have. Once someone has root access to your machine it doesn't matter how good your password strategy is. Yes, use a password manager and/or use solid passwords you've never used before. Sound, solid advice...a password manager/good password hygiene will not save you from someone who has root access to your machine via an RCE.

Yup. RCE exploits are very much a worse-case scenario in that they enable an attacker to do literally anything.

Elden Ring art from Game Informer.
Very interesting, not what I was expecting. It's just a geometric shape but I actually think it's kind of revealing, so if you're looking to go into this spoiler free or media free you may not want to click. It's definitely making me think things.
That being said, the continued separation in aesthetic from Dark Souls is really awesome and it's making me happy.

Game Informer has a few videos up (I'm guessing certain embargoes are just gone now):
(Spoilered because it spoils a location name):
As always, remove these from your watch history so that YouTube doesn't start throwing content your way (although I got spoiled on a PERSONA 5 plot point in a non-Persona comment section so. . .)

Watched these earlier today and I am so desperate to play! I tried playing the PS5 Demon Souls again to scratch the itch. ... It doesn't.
I thought about picking up DS: Remake, but honestly there's not a ton of time to actually play it this month (February). Every upcoming Friday a AAA game is dropping that I'm pretty much picking up (Dying Light 2 - although of all the releases this is the one I'd be fine skipping, Lost Ark, Forbidden West and then Elden Ring) with some smaller games releasing in between.
Game Informer video after playing ten hours. No gameplay spoilers but definitely new gameplay. A few takeaways: much different than network test; the sense of scale that was present in the network test is nothing compared to what they experienced; "Legacy Dungeons" are on an even bigger level than the "normal" gameplay; confident there will be "optional" encounters (think Friede from DS3 or Frigid Outskirts from DS2).
. . .overall a good video though the fella playing definitely might be biased (regards BB as the greatest game of all time).

Everyone has their fetish. When I write a DnD game I always have a sticky note saying "NO CULTISTS".
Several months of campaign later "Oh my god, it was a cult the entire time".
I am also in the super hyped for elden ring boat but i'm actually kind of amazed by how bad it looks. Luckily graphics aren't a big deal for me but; ugh. It just doesn't look like an 80$ (CAD) game
I don't think it looks "great" but it certainly doesn't look "bad. . ." It looks just like DS3 (though I wish it looked more like SEKIRO) which it kind of has to being. . . well hell not even a crossgen game but an old gen game with better performance on current gen.

Are there actually a lot of non-full price comparable open world games that look like that?
Because I'm really not seeing how the visuals are on such a bad a level that it doesn't even look like a standard priced game. That seems a pretty wild claim.

Yeah, it needs 10000% more polygons before it's a game worth my money.
As we all know, graphics are the only thing that makes a game worth $80 (CAD).

They took every single game on PC and console offline to fix it.
Because it's not just a PC exploit, since both consoles are also using X86 chips from AMD.

tldr: don't reuse passwords, kids.

Which is why I'm even more irked about how fucking badly some of their games perform. Sekiro on base xbox one s was not good.
