If Elden Ring isn't the easiest Souls game, I need someone to point out the easier Souls game.
DS3 probably.
DS1 is significantly easier than 3 IMO. Compare like, Taurus demon to the graveyard guy or vordt.
Fun fact, the Souls games got harder as time went along, it was the players who got better.
Elden Ring is properly difficult and if I went back and played DS2 or DS1 right now... well, first, they would feel unbearably jank and slow, but second I don't think there's a proper difficult boss like, say, Radahn. Or Sword Saint Isshin. Or Orphan of Kos. Midir or Friede.

I know I'll be a minority here, but I honestly found Bloodborne the easiest of the souls games. Ludwigs is stupid overpowered, you can range parry, the aggression is perfect and it doesn't have any covenant bullshit getting in the way of the platinum trophy in the game. Given it's the only souls game I have successfully platinumed, I think that's my main evidence as to its relative ease compared to the other games.
u can probs fight him solo but thats not the design intent
Yes but you can do it and his behavior changes depending on if you summon a ton of NPCs or not, so both ways are just fine. Seems like they thought about it.
I like the fashion I've landed on for my character, where he's just the top of a helmet poking out of a pile of cloak.

Did I fuck up by
killing Patches? Heard that he has some major value down the road. Need to decide if I should restart the game at this point.

no u misunderstand
the point isnt if hes hard or easy
i beat him literally the first time i tried summon spamming
the point is that hes very, very badly made
he isnt interesting
nobody is going to be like "i just beat elden ring, this guy was my favourite" because if u fight him 1v1 hes insanely basic
usually im trolling the game but if i engage with a boss and then realise that using my brain was a waste of time and i should have been doing 420 kickflips on a pony while flinging rocks and spamming summons for a free win im going to be a little put out
margit actually does stuff. probably. he didnt for me because his ai broke but other people report him doing things
this dude? lol
EDIT: in fairness im more annoyed than usual because i have had a very good bottle of 2008 rioja alta and frankly thats miyazakis problem

Okay.
Who is the total motherfucker who decided that a giant lobster needed a grabby claw and a stabby claw and sniper bubble shot and a shotgun bubble shot? Go on, raise your hand, I'm not going to be angry.
I'm going to be livid.

it just occurred to me that having a rune arc active is the ED equivalent to being body form/human/embered
it's funny the giant crabs are nothing, you ride a circle around them they can't hit you and 3 to 4 hits with your trust crab cracker mace is all it takes.
I'm basically drowning in rune arcs; i have 20+ and i've been keeping a great rune active permanently since i killed godrick
also
i hate that i have to wear this hat because its effects are so good; but it looks so stupid

I kinda feel the Dark Souls games get progressively harder as From mostly believes the hype about the games being So Hard You Guys.
Like, DS1 isn't actually that hard with the exception of a couple spikes. It just punishes uncautiousness harder than a catholic nun. I've seen people slowly manage to beat the game when they started at a level that keese in Zelda OOT gave them trouble, simply by playing carefully. Most of the fights are more puzzles than tests of reaction and technique.
By 3, the simple fact is that if you're not already pretty decent at action games and have a significant amount of execution skill you're not going to beat the game, end of.

I have skipped over Bloodborne and Sekiro and can confirm there is a SPIKE in difficulty between DS3 and Elden Ring if you take certain bosses out of order. Granted, I'm hardly the best player, but having cleared 3 of these games and all of their DLC, I am still having to do a lot re-adjusting to enemy attack patterns that you just can't seem to out range which I assume comes from BB. Melee just seems sub optimal for some bosses and God help you if you have a slow weapon attack speed for some. Full screen enemy gap closers and relentless combo attacks, absolutely ridiculous overhead tracking the worst I've seen since DS2. There are clearly cheese options and grinding, but yeah, this is not an easy game.

Do great rune benefits run out over time or until you die? I read they were temporary so never bothered with it.
the last until you die
like being embered or human or body formed
Amazing. I have never read a description that said that. Everywhere I read said only a temporary buff, but a permanent buff until death isn’t bad at all! Yeah thought it just lasted a few minutes so never bothered with them.
if riding in circles summoning npcs and spamming ranged attacks instantly makes a boss trivial the boss is dogshit
obviously there are harder ways to do him
there always are. the problem is that hes obviously designed to be fought that way. its why he comes with like 9 summon portals
in his phase 2 he has 3 attacks. three
awful
I don't even want to watch the streamer who does that boss without summons. And yes, beyond a few moments where his attention was on me and I was desperately trying to get back on Torrent, that was... the most boring boss fight in the game. Yeah. Tedious.
Super stylish, though.

died like 5x before i realised its not actually a boss, its literally a circuit training exercise designed by an idiot
who the fuck thought this was a good idea

That took a couple tries. 130,000 runes tho!
its not a boss
ur not actually meant to fight him
u ride in circles spamming adds to fuck up his ai then hit him when hes literally not attacking u
its a joke
hes not hard hes just one of the worst gimmicks they have ever put in

You can absolutely fight him solo and he's a lot less spammy. Found this out after I beat him and saw some videos but yeah, he's do-able.
ur meant to spam him with minions
its just a shit design
his posture meter is literally so large its meant to be filled by spam hits
he took half an hour of my time whatever its just disappointing when u realise u thought there was an interesting problem but its just stupid
Pain. Pain is behind that gargoyle forcefield.

Then why does his behavior change if you opt not to use them?
This entire game is based around doing shit how you want. I dunno.
Oh its an absolute fucking nightmare.
But its optional and beatable.
If I ever enjoyed that gimmick, it burnt out of me trying to clear SL1 Burnt Ivory King.
I think I'll be fighting him alone.
Look at me. I am the boss now.
