I'm having a ton of fun playing Cadence of Hyrule with my partner, and they've specifically requested "More games where you explore Hyrule. Or at least explore a nice place that is mostly green and you wander around solving puzzles or something. Nothing in space."
One of the previous big hits with them was Yonder, which really fits that bill. Combat's fine, it's just rolling hills and exploration takes precedence.
Anything come to mind for Switch immediately based on that? At the rate we're chewing through this we'll be done tomorrow.
I just sort of question the absolute loyalty for it. Terraria is a fine game, but... it's just Terraria.
It reminds me of a forumer here years and years ago that had this absolute love and devotion to the game Bloodrayne. Like they owned every single version on every console and such. And all I could think was hey... I've no business judging, ya like what ya like. But of all the game series to go that far and deep all in on... Bloodrayne?

I mean... Have ya played Stardew Valley?
Or, and I assume y'all've already played it but just in case, Breath of the Wild.
Alternatively, my wife and I have put a ton of time into Minecraft. No puzzles, true, but lots of exploring to be done.

Breath of the Wild seems the obvious answer? I've not played it, but for something less fighty and more crafty/bucolic I've heard people liking My Time at Portia which sounds quite like Yonder?
I got the Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection last time it was on sale and immediately started kicking myself because I had just bought a usb Venom arcade stick for my Xbox One.
It's compatible with PlayStation and pc, so I plugged it into my Switch today, lo and behold, it works!
I still can't throw a fireball in the first Street Fighter. Fucking hell, that game is bad.
I love the first Street Fighter, in its own way. I mean, I'd love to see a remake that uses more solid controls while keeping the graphics and sound, perhaps, but throwing a Hadoken is SUPPOSED to be hard -- it takes some 50% or so of your opponent's life in one hit. You don't just hand that kind of power out silly-nilly.
Like Mega Man Legends? Then check out my story, Legends of the Halcyon Era - An Adventure in the World of Mega Man Legends on TMMN and AO3!

Yeah I'll recommend My Time at Portia. The world isn't as large as Yonder or BotW and the goal isn't exploration but it is a pretty emersive game. The way you sell items is similar to Yonder where you sell to shopkeepers and the prices change each day depending on the market. There is combat but it isn't the focus of the game. Portia is an excellent game and now that there have been performance patches released, there's no reason not to try it. It's even on sale this week.

Yeah, I saw that price and knew people wouldn't be having it. The Witcher 3 for Switch is full price, BUT it's being rebuilt for the Switch and it has all the DLC and the full game on a bigger-size cart, so I kind of get why.
Capcom can't seem to quite get their heads dislodged from their rear ends when it comes to game pricing. I really don't know why they're so bad when it comes to how they support the Switch.
It's kinda crazy how bad Capcom is here in Switch-Land, and over in PS4/XBO-World, they're just knocking everything out of the park. It's almost like they have contempt for the Switch, but can't deny the sweet revenue of it's user base.

Skyrim? Its not really that green, but its a great big world to explore and its on switch. Its a totally different theme and tone but if someone really dug Breath of the wild its an obvious choice.
Capcom sure has a weird Switch game output. I mean on paper we have some good stuff: a ton of RE ports, Dragon's Dogma, Mega Man 11, a Portable Mon Hun...and DMC.
I'll be honest if it was DmC instead I'd buy it asap.
Speaking of Phoenix Wright, I started in on Ace Attorney Trilogy this week. I don't know why, but I had been assuming it would start with some low-stakes cases. Nope! Straight to the drama!
I remember hearing about NIS's possible demise around the time of either Disgaea 4 or D2, and remember thinking "It's a shame, but they had a good run". And that feeling hasn't really changed. Disgaea was a blast of fresh air in the SRPG genre, and it's had a good run. Somebody else can take up the reigns and give the genre another shot in the arm.
As for NISA, since they kind of also did general localization work, I imagine if they're profitable enough to stay afloat, they'll simply pivot full time into that.

My second Princess Zelda-centric run of Cadence of Hyrule is going much smoother than my first. Having a spear early gives you a good amount of distance between you and the enemies; really makes a lot of difference.

If NIS main folds what happens to NISA, the actually profitable section?
If they're profitable, they can just continue doing what they're doing being a localizer/publisher and hopefully stay alive that way. But it also depends on how much money is left to do that by the time NIS folds - all indications are that the execs plan to jump out with golden parachutes.

I'm secretly a millionaire and I've been paying the developers of Terraria to continuously delay the game specifically to create hijinks in this thread and poop in @Drez's proverbial cheerios. Enjoy

Correction: @drez spend more on candles. But buy them from me, I need the business.
So, any verdicts on Captain Toad Treasure Tracker? I've about extracted all the value I can from disgaea 5, and I'm looking at other games.
The demos pet fun! But how's the game later? Does it get more complicated/interesting in good ways? Or just aggrivating?

I'm thinking Judgment, but the action parts are like The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, and with more courtroom segments.

We pay extra because they didn't include DmC2.
I admit it. I buy anything and everything Resident Evil. But anything other than DMC3 I won’t. But if DMC1 doesn’t sell, we likely won’t get that.

They of course did play all the Zelda games, extensively. I think BotW was like a solid 6 months of exploring every nook and cranny.
Okami HD also come to mind.

I thought this announcement was about Disgaea 4 for a minute and now I'm sad.
At this stage we'll be lucky there's an NIS left by that point.
Sorry. Hope this makes up for it

Now that PSO2 is coming stateside I find myself asking these same questions. Perhaps we need to start a support group.
Maybe it'll suck and you'll have to wait for the fix patch :P
