"Combine three Oils to enchant your Amulet with any Notable Passive Skill from the Skill Tree. The twelve Oils vary considerably in rarity, with each combination of them granting a different result."

This'll probably be the new un-dataminable thing. Imagine finding the oil set that enchants Hex Master.
We have also improved Betrayal's rewards, made deeper depths easier to access in Delve, and integrated Legion and the boss fights from Synthesis into the core game.
@fRAWRst looks like your preferred starter might be a-changin'. Though I suppose you could just do GC Traps instead.
"We often received feedback that Mines, though strong, felt clunky to use. In Blight, we have completely reworked Mine mechanics from the ground up. Thrown to a location rather than placed at your feet, Mines now deploy more quickly and detonate in sequence. Mine skills now also reward you for detonating long sequences. New and reworked Mine Support Gems, as well as the mobile Skitterbots, provide new avenues for explosive power. All these additions are further enhanced by changes to the Passive Skill Tree and the Saboteur Ascendancy Class."

Jesus, I was all like, hm, maybe I'll take a break this league, enjoy some Destiny 2. But then they have to announce all sorts of crazy changes, and now I'm wondering if I should try another Queen's Decree build or something.
"I will write your name in the ruin of them. I will paint you across history in the color of their blood."
ZiggyD's video says you'll be able to see the oil necklace passive enchant result before you consume the oils, which can only be considered as an absolute win
"You can also have Sister Cassia anoint your amulets. You’ll need three oils for this process, though, but it’s well worth it. That’s because these oil combinations for your amulet will lead to a vastly different effect: A new passive in your skill tree. There are now 13 secret passives that have been added which you can unlock in the skill tree only from oil combinations ... Oh, and the surprise? It won’t matter where you’ve put points for your build because these passives can be made active no matter where you’re at on the skill tree."
Betrayal Board shared across all characters. Sulphite shared across all characters. Less Delve levels to get to the good spots. Rarer nodes are more common.
Syndicate Mastermind encounter will have a reward room for EVERY Syndicate member on the board, not just the leaders.
We're getting a tower defense league! I am so down for this league. Changes to mines sound pretty awesome, and finally some melee poison skills other than Viper Strike from the sounds of it.
Damn! They lured me back in hard with necromancer revamps and an extra skill bar. I want one of their blurbs on the expansion page to be "Nerfing everything you love!", but I will be content with OP necromancers.
Even better, this league is guaranteed to work well with summoner builds too because you're defending a single spot as the league mechanic instead of hopping around like a bunny.

They said the support gems that will manipulate minion AI can be linked to any skill, not just the minion's skill. So you can link whatever the theoretical Passive gem is to Convocation, etc etc.
These league mechanics have me thinking that a Totem starter (Heirophant Arc Totems?) or a Trickster Cold Snap starter would be really effective.
I'm leaning towards Vortex/Cold Snap. Big chill and freeze to buy more time, lots of long lasting AoE pools to handle multiple paths. Easy to keep everything up. Cold DoT is unlikely to get dinged in the 3.8 balance manifesto, and either Trickster or Occultist would do nicely.
I have mixed feelings on this league announcement. On some of my characters I've disliked the stand around and defend parts of delve, to the point where I'll just stop delving. So I'm a little worried that Blight is going to feel the same.
On the other hand, this league mechanic seems like it will be great for a bunch of different types of builds. I was totally going to league start fRAWRst's ground slam serker, but vortex seems like it's going to work well with the league mechanic. I'll probably wait to see if the masses latch on to Vortex.

Did all the good totem witch builds die in the last round of nerfs?
"I will write your name in the ruin of them. I will paint you across history in the color of their blood."
Hmm, I was thinking about trying a summoner build or a vortex/cold snap build next league, seems like I was on the right track! I hope the tower defense parts aren't too obtrusive.
I wonder how synthesis encounters will work without the synthesis world around, how they will be triggered.
Whoa I am so excited about this! Legion was great, I really enjoyed being able to select how many mobs I want to release and fight at once and 3.8 seems like it's gonna be a blast!
Just from watching this, it seems clear that a build that can continue attacking somehow whilst walking around and building/upgrading towers is going to be much, much better at the league content.
Or maybe you can just go Cyclone and stand on the thing for 90 seconds, then collect your loot.

Yes, first set. I'm not going to do many this league, since inexperience means losing my xp bar haha.
I feel like tower defense is a mode made for traps/mines.
