Someone I know got their phone wiped recently by mistake by Verizon.
When the phone was being setup again, it found an offline backup on the phone that held data for all apps.
They didn't have anything like that configured and the backup was found as part of the initial setup since it was wiped.
My question is what setting made that backup and how to create it manually or prevent it from being made.
