If we want to get technical, they aren't cutting these players, they're just not renewing their contracts (as far as I know). This is pretty standard. If they were being cut then they would be under contract and the team would be terminating that (possibly with a buyout depending on the players' contracts). London is going to be looking for backup DPS to replace Birdring and Guard. They really need someone that can come in and be consistent on hitscan and Birdring really wasn't getting it done. I don't know what Guard's specialty is. Apparently Nus was the worst performer on the team, hence Quatermain taking over midseason. But I think they'll probably look for someone to start alongside Bdosin and keep Quatermain on the bench unless he performs really well in the future.

Who wants to watch @Kana reddit Lucio himself to death?
A trap is for fish: when you've got the fish, you can forget the trap. A snare is for rabbits: when you've got the rabbit, you can forget the snare. Words are for meaning: when you've got the meaning, you can forget the words.

I have a really bad habit as Pharah of just holding down left-click and mentally timing my flick as each shot comes out. I have no idea why I do it, and I don't even do it with other characters with similar shot timing. So I've been playing against bots a lot to try and break the habit in a no-pressure scenario, doing one round with holding versus one round with clicking only when I'm ready to fire, just to get a feel for the difference. And it's kind of ridiculous just how many more direct rockets I'm able to land if I wait to click-flick each time I fire, instead of holding and anticipating the shot. I know it's kind of obvious, but it's interesting to see in real-time.
Now I just have to get used to it enough to not fall back into the habit when I'm trying to perform against actual humans. I already feel pretty good about my Pharah in general (positioning, cooldown use, knowing when not to ult, etc.), but sometimes in the heat of a fight my aim just goes completely potato, and I think that's a big part of why.

should be a lot of announcements today about players' free agency status cos today was the deadline for those with 2 year contracts to either re-sign with their team or go LFT

Jehong not retiring but it's heavily implied he's not re-signing with Seoul:
I imagine he'd want to stay with an all-Korean roster and especially with one of the actual Korea-based teams, which doesn't leave him a lot of wiggle room. He's obviously a strong talent, but most of the Korean teams already have pretty strong support lines so I'm not sure where he might end up. But yeah, I love the dude and hope he finds a good fit somewhere!
Saying you've had offers is a pretty standard contract negotiation tactic too, so he may well stay at Seoul. I can't see them improving without him, and he'd improve almost any team he signed for.
Yeah I had fallen off the blizzard wagon for most things but uhh definitely not buying anymore shit if they're going to carry water for the PRC like this
The worst thing about this is it's such a cynical cost-benefit analysis response with no element of humanity to it whatsoever. It's not that much different to the way the NFL responded to its players taking a knee during the anthem a couple years back and just fucking sucks all around.
Although that seems unfortunately likely, are there any better sources than Slasher? He's got a pretty bad track record of misrepresenting stuff

i was also entertaining the idea of getting a team HK world cup jersey last night prior to the news and now i'm wondering what i can get away with as a "gamertag"....
I'd love to see some Korean pros force blizzard's hand in this to reverse this stupid decision.
How would they do that? I imagine anyone who tried anything would also get banned.
The overwatch league is a farce anyways so they could not play as a point
Really much of blizzard's stuff over the last year I feel they really to rethink their place in games and their goals and statements as it is much of their relationship with Activision that got them here.
People are talking about boosting the image of Blizzard characters as pro-Hong Kong and seeing how that goes for Blizzard.
I don't know how likely it is to take off, but if they somehow end up with a PR nightmare everywhere that isn't China and Winnie-the-Pooh'd in China, that would be

A farce in what way? Many of the players would be giving up $100k+ contacts to make a stand. I'd applaud anyone who did, but I don't expect anyone to give up their well paying dream job, either.

Feels weird, he's basically the face of Seoul Dynasty at this point.
I just saw this
This is IMMENSELY screwed up and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna just go head and not support Blizzard's products anymore
I mean it's informative to know what these companies think of human rights, I guess.
