I have found myself rewatching that part of the episode a few times now partly because of that fantastic song.
One of the things that blows me away about this show is they don't reuse music, but rather seem to score each episode. This is different from a lot of shows, where characters and scenes/moods get certain songs, and they just weave them together each episode at the appropriate section. Think Naruto/Bleach/One Piece/most shonen.
The insert song for Demon Slayer 19 is completely new, as far as I can tell.
As I was warned, I don’t like what Fire Force is doing with the character with the cat-themed magic. A designated fanservice character is one thing, but this show pulled the same crap that Kill La Kill did and went on to go “by the way, she hates it. But isn’t it hot?” Ugh.
fire force is way too fucking horny for its own good

people seem to forget that soul eater was all manner of horny as well
The Soul Eater magna ending was almost inexplicably horny.
Like, mostly serious ending focused on resolving character arcs and then suddenly several pages of "oh uh by the way, the moon made everyone think about boobs! Isn't that weird and kinda hot? Haha anyways, series over!"

I don't remember this ending at all, despite definitely reading it.

Yeah, even the traditionally not-caring-about-sex at all Maka was suddenly thirsty. It was... ODD. Like, most series take a victory lap of their favored character dynamics or themes, Soul Eater was like... fan service, woo hoo!

Didn't the Soul Eater anime had a naked catgirl in the OP! How could you forget?
I think the back half of the anime had a lot less fanservice, so I'd imagine that's why. The like, middle third or so of the manga was similarly less horny but then the last third really started cranking it back up.

The fanservice gets cranked up when they go to the seven layers of Hell, iirc.
I still think Maka was a pretty great protagonist, all things considered.

So outside of the anime bullshit, how much of Vinland is true? Makes me want to dig a bit more into this time period.

It's heavily researched to ensure general historical accuracy, and a number of characters are inspired by actual historical figures, but the story that takes place is fiction.

Yeah, the first layer of the Book of Eibon is Lust, so.
Things get more serious when they get to Envy and Sloth.
Maka is a great character (one of my favorite protags actually) and I still have a ton of fondness for the Soul Eater magna, but yeah that artist sure does love him some fanservice.
Like, he seemingly cannot physically stop himself going back to the cheesecake every few chapters or so.

When I read through the manga
for the first time recently, there was a point where I was like "ah, I think there hasn't been much fanservice for a while, this is nice"
and then the way Kim opens the portal to the witches' pocket dimension is to flip up her skirt and draw the symbol in the air with her butt. That's more or less the point where I feel like the horniness gets cranked back up for the final stretch.

The soul eater anime sure ended in the dumbest way possible, however

in a way, I find the concept fitting. Asura’s whole deal was that he feared anything he couldn’t control or understand, and destroyed those things when he could. Which means he never had to work through or endure his fears, so he never understood the concept of courage. And so he feared that. To me, it’s like he was destroyed by his own god-tier Madness, inspired by Maka’s absolute irrational refusal to back down.
The execurion was quite abrupt and weird, tho.

The thing I didn’t like was
Maka suddenly being a reaper AND a deathscythe and THAT was what made her super special awesome enough to fight Asura

didnt that call come to naught, though? She starts sprouting blades and it looks like she’s gonna power up into something amazing, and then Asura slaps her down and wakes her back up to stop that from happening.
Finished my reread of kaguya-sama. Need more darnit.
It's legit impressive that aka is able to flesh out the side cast so well, especially folks who just start off as simple gag characters like Ishigami or Iino. Most manga would just keep them limited to their simple personality quirks, but he seeds character hints of character complexity for practically everybody, without really making it obvious he's doing it. Then when they get a leading role in a chapter it's always interesting, which sure isn't something I could say about the cast of many other romantic comedies. So many little character details get hinted at waaay before they're finally explored.
I'm curious if he's ever going to commit to giving Fujiwara more depth, or if the constant hints that he's gonna do so are just itself an ongoing gag. At this point I pretty much just trust him to write the story wherever he wants it to go.
Though speaking of seeding character stuff, I had forgotten that
The only guy Fujiwara ever crushes on was Kaguya's "male butler" Haysaka-san.

oh THIS is where Zelda gets a lot of...what it is, huh
Would you say the influence started after the first one? Because the first Zelda was actually released earlier that year.
I think particularly in how Zelda games depict communities, which is not really a factor in the first one
like all the design about Laputa feels very relevant to Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, the ancient futuretech aesthetic
