man i'm actually kind of upset by the design of Priest Quest
because it's not a build-around, it's not for any specific type of deck, you literally just slap quest in EVERY deck and it just makes it better by default
and it will be in every priest deck until it rotates
Oh no, Priest might be relevant again. Truly the darkest timeline.
I mean, yeah, probably.
If Priest's core identity was to make super big guys and to try and keep them healed up for board control that'd be fucking swell as hell, and maybe that happens with this quest.
But we all know that Priest's identity is permanently, "Just play these cards in this order, doesn't matter what your opponent is doing, unless they kill you first I guess."
I think it's going to be harder to heal 15 health than it looks
Don't forget the dark saga of "pushed" Healadin
paladin didn't have an unlimited source of healing like priest does. even just making efficient trades and healing minions will tick up the quest progress. healing reborn minions back up too.
it's not gonna be easy, but i don't think it'll necessarily be hard either. it'll complete itself, eventually.
I think the problem with Priest playing this sort of game is that if they could do this right now, they would. They'd do it, and topsy-turvy to victory.
The problem is still that Priest is too fucking slow against Druid and Shaman right now, and its wincons are a laugh and a half against Boom. This quest on its own doesn't change that dynamic. Some of the Reborn Taunt minions might. I think that's where the crux of whether Priest becomes relevant again or not.
They keep trying to do a zoo-esque priest but they just lack the card draw because they need to heal Northshire but if they're healing Northshire they're not developing minions
I think it will hinge greatly on hitting lots of things with Pyromancer > any spell > CoH.
or even just "have board full of minions, make trades, pop CoH"
CoH will assuredly be key regardless, for early completions.
Yea the meta where you can just make trades with minions hasn't existed for awhile (if ever) your minions are either going face or they are just removal for late game win condition
E-thinking on the priest quest, how much work are you doing before you get as much value as dire frenzy + hunters call

I am of the firm opinion that with the amount of board clear in the game right now, you have to have some way to just generate minions to hand or minions to board or you're fucked. Murloc Shaman and Token Druid generate a fuckton of minions and they can barely keep up with the board clear before this expac.
There are times where you're sufficiently dissuaded from hitting certain breakpoints by the threat of tempo swings like Molten Giant or Hooked Reaver but the quest isn't worth that level of respect.
I remember in freeze mage vs patron warrior matchups you wanted to avoid pinging the warrior until he had armor so that he couldn't activate battle rage with his face
Specialist format is gone. The new format is a return to Bo3 Conquest with some slight changes. Prior to the banning phase where a deck is banned, you can pick one of yours to be 'shielded' and unbannable.
E: Exact rules:
The two battling players bring four decks, each from a unique class.
The match starts with a Shield Phase where both players will choose one of their own decks to “protect”, meaning it cannot be banned by their opponent.
Each player will then ban one of their opponents’ decks (excluding the shielded deck), removing it from the pool.
Each player then selects which of their three remaining decks they would like to play first, then begin their first game of the match.
After the first game has concluded, the winning deck is removed from the pool before both players pick which of their remaining decks they would like to play next.
If after the second game one player is 2-0, the match is over.
If the score is 1-1, then the winning deck from the second game is removed from the pool and both players will choose a final deck to decide the series. Players may opt to pick a deck that they lost with in a prior round and use it again.
I'm honestly not sure what was wrong with the Conquest format, it seemed fine. This just feels like change for the sake of change (as was the swap over to Specialist)
I think they were feeling pressure from MtG:A in their market space and wanted to be more similar to the competition. Literally the same day they announced Specialist, MtG announced a new format that was more 'Hearthstoney' than their Bo3 sideboard stuff (it flopped pretty bad).

Is divine hymn enough? maybe one more as good?

Not with this badboy!

I hope this helps priest become good again.
That may not work super well depending on how pervasive it is in Priest decks.

you get to keep your best deck huh? That seems bad.
I think so too! This was a poorly timed meta for them to try it though.

At least they're back to Conquest though.
