Wouldn't mind rolling a character like this, quite frankly.

Annoyed by my low Con, though.

Oh, that's my character after a few levels.

BUT if you take into account the 5th Edition stat modifiers for goblins, as is appropriate:

    STR: 9
    INT: 11
    WIS: 13
    DEX: 10
    CON: 10
    CHA: 6

    Look-out, first level adventurers.

are puns a skill or part of chr/int?

I think they're an all encompassing negative modifier.

Each time you make one, add a permanent-1 modifier to all stats.

According to the 3.5 SRD if you are 35 and over you apply these modifiers:

-1 to STR, DEX and CON; +1 to INT, WIS, CHA

    53 and over it's -2; +1.

    70 and over it's -3; +1.

    And a PCs maximum age is 70 + 2d20.

So that means 10 years ago I would have been

    13
    10

    Sounds about right.

Is there a better term than "able bodied"? Uh, I was gonna ramble with a list of names but I can't think of any. Normal would be one I guess. But that's the same issue as able bodied.
I think able-bodied is fine? Hell of a lot better than 'normal' anywhere.

Generally if there is ever an option other than 'normal' for describing a person I think you should not use 'normal'.

According to the player handbook strength 6 already allows you to lift 55 pounds over your head

    It goes up to 480

9-11 is 'average adult' in D&D.

yeah i'm so used to min-maxing

    18/00 is normal strong
charisma is a 3 because you can just get a ring that sets that to 18
lol why would I need int as a stat, I'm not a mage, that can be a 3

On able-bodied/normal/average: Not to bring up math again, but one of my fave stat facts is: The average human has less than 2 arms. (or legs, or less than 10 fingers/toes etc etc.
Also a great way to teach people the importance of median vs average.

Old D&D doesn't really support that interpretation but in old D&D everything beyond 18 was superhuman and your stats typically didn't increase

In the link, 19 is "able to break wood with bare hands" but in AD&D that would be Hill Giant strength

Similarly, 17-18 is already named as "genius" intellect

Thinking about it, the intended way to get around all the stuff which would kill a player character instantly was probably to use your schmucks for that

If you got to level 9 as a fighter, you would become a "Lord" and attract a small army (the book stresses that this happens "automatically")

Lots of schmucks to use in battle

And then, y'know, everything else can probably be reduced by 1 because I'm a narcissist so clearly my answers are skewed.

Right, since we're dealing with real actual people I just assumed we'd use the more realistic 5e versions instead of the 3/3.5e versions where you could literally rip planets in half.

yeah having multiple questions focused on juggling, just like having multiple questions focused on natural languages spoken, kinda screwed me over

Like, I can pick locks! I can escape handcuffs! Ask me about those dumb talents!

I also found it weird that the wisdom questions didn't have much about one's awareness/senses, as that is generally something that falls within that domain. Like, if we're just calling wisdom common sense, mine should be a lot lower probably - I'm fine with the thirteen because I'll take that as a high visual perception and ability to tell when someone is lying, which is where I actually have some talent.
