The best "What If" to be made by marvel in recent history. I honestly think I like it better than Bullet Points in many ways.

i actually just reread this like two days ago. i liked it a lot more this time than the first time i read it, and i'm not sure why. i just remember the last time i was like 'meh, that was okay i guess', but this time i was all 'hey that was cool!'

if nothing else, the covers are awesome

I think a lot of people honestly like it more than Bullet Points.

    It's Neil Fucking Gaiman.

Has anyone anywhere ever said that Bullet Points was better than 1602?

I don't think I've ever seen that sentiment anywhere, but hey, I could be wrong.

I sound pretty indignant in my above post.

I am not saying Bullet Points is terrible.

    I kind of liked it.

    But 1602 is super awesome.

And yeah, like Servo said, I have never really thought of comparing the two. I mean, you feasibly could, but it never crossed my mind.

Mostly becuase one is an alternate reality in the past and the other is just re-imagining the present day Marvel Universe.

Isn't 1602, in a rather strange and minor way, 616 canon?

I still think the end of 1602 was kind of dumb.

"Oh, it was some space-time continuum weapon that made all the mutants and stuff come 300 years early arghbgarrwofinweo"

1602: Fantastick Four was pretty awesome, also.

I thought it was a temporal rift that threw Cap back in time.

I thought it was a temporal rift that threw Cap back in time.

the president-for-life threw cap into a time machine because cap tried to fight him even after all the other superheroes were dead or arrested or whatever and cap's being back in that time somehow triggered the universe into thinking it was time for all the other superheroes to start existing as well, so they did. the universe doesn't pay very close attention to itself, i guess.

I hope I don't get flamed for this, but man, I was pretty disappointed with 1602. Having said that however, I think this might have been because when I first heard about it and that it was from Neil Gaiman, I was expecting A LOT! I think the storyline and the concept was pretty kick ass, characters were awesome, but as mentioned above...the ending kinda just crumbled.

What do you guys think of the new one though?

    Seriously.

I bought the trade the day it came out.

And I sold it to a used book store a couple days later.
