Then I work Saturday and Sunday the entire day.

I'm hype for this, but mostly on my wife's behalf. I've never really played them.
So instead it's motivating me to sit down and finally give Awakening a real try. It certainly seems like the kind of game I'd enjoy, I just never really got around to it I guess.
Anyway I’m getting back to Echoes, I was only in Act 1 but apparently I had close to 30 hours in that game? I must have left it open at some point, because that does NOT seem right.
I realize it's an anime style, but I hope someday they pull an artist like Daisuke Ishiwatari to do the eyes/faces for their characters to help differentiate them.
It's kind of in this anime sameness / uncanny valley at the moment. Super excited to jump in tho.

Oh, do opponent levels change if you're playing on Hard? The first battle after picking the House had every opponent at around level 3 while my Deer were all at 1.
My biggest vote against the Golden Deer is I don’t like half the students in that house.
In contrast I like them all except that nerdo Ignatz and maybe Lorenz.
Marianne's tired eyes are very relatable.
This is me. I thought I only liked 2-3 of them but now I like all but Ignatz (although he's rapidly becoming a monstrous archer) and Raphael (I haven't got any of his support convos yet)
The support conversations have been surprisingly long and much less throwaway then they've been in a while, which I've been enjoying.
Lorenz has grown on me, I've been keeping Leonie around him to pop his ego bubble whenever it gets too large.

The thing that caught my attention early on with Claude is that
In the very first scene where you're looking at the three heirs Claude's says that his smile doesn't reach his eyes, which has me interested in where it could go, particularly since his very first support conversation with Lorenz casts doubt on his lineage.

I have this creeping feeling that the Golden Deer will turn out to be a bunch of feckless, self-serving cretins eager to betray the rest of their alliance to either or both of said monarchy and theocracy, just to make sure that there aren't any designated "good guys".
