does anyone actually actively seek out the hunt targets other than the S ranks? Seems like a lot of work for a pitiful handful of seals or nuts.
I'm doing the daily hunt targets at the moment (well, the non fate ones atleast).
Yes, not that much seals, but i never really got into them so i have almost no speed increases for ARR areas, and only half done with Heavensward and Stormblood.
Not a high priority so i am in a hurry they are the things i drop first.
But it's not like they take that long.
there's side content that regularly makes use of that tab, most notably personal hunts and wondrous tails
I don't think I've stumbled across personal hunts yet, and you can't unlock wondrous tales until you've hit level 60 with a job, which can be a fairly long while after you've got the compass.
I've always felt that lot of endgame sets just try too hard.
Like, i'm currently running around as a level 70 monk, wearing the level 50 monk set glamour, because all later monk sets looked worse than the one before.
Also a blindfold.
That i dyed yellow.

XIV's aesthetic suits itself to a more reserved style than, for example, WoW. It's outlandish but in a Final Fantasy way rather than a cartoony way, so you can go with a less over-the-top outfit and look good while also fitting into the world around you.

what. the HW Monk set is Yang's outfit from FF14 and the StB Monk set looked pretty awesome both in trailer and in game. If anything, I'd say Monk sets have been consistently decent. For bad sets look at WHM.

Nah, i went back to see, and those are terrible.
The yellow monk outfit is the best of the monk ones up to level 70.
But then i enjoy simplicity and function in outfits. The monk outfits (or most job sets in general) don't really have that.

If we're talking solely artifact sets, I love most of the WHM gear. Although that's most likely because i don't have headgear showing.

Agree to disagree. Most of them are evoking some FF nostalgia. Well sometimes. I'm not sure what the hell is going on with SAM AF2..is it 2?
EDIT: TBH, I'm a fan of most AF1 sets (WHM included) since they're mostly based off FFXI's.
I've never understood the eyepatch on the Black Mage AF1 armor. And then they brought the eyepatch back again for Shadowbringers. And I still don't get it.
Are all Black Mages blind in one eye? Does closing one eye help you shoot spells better? Like... why?
And anyway, I'm still using the glamour set that Lyna gave me. Level 79 and rockin' the official Crystarium guard uniform. Of course, once I hit 80 and finish my role and job quests, I am going to be rockin' the dancer AF armor.
And a question for those of you who are glamour experts - I've recently started dabbling in Machinist, and I have this idea in my head of a miq'ote female cowgirl. Any suggestions for glamour pieces I should look at to put together a cowgirl outfit for when I'm a MCN?
Omega is so far the most sympathetic opponent in this expansion.
I did not see this coming.
As for our allies
I am really warming up to Nero.
Always loved it when people did the right thing, not out of some moral or ethical reason, but basicly as a big fuck you to their enemies, or the universe at large.

Look up the anemos glamours on the market board.
Nice, yeah, that's a pretty good set. I bet Eureka gear is probably pretty expensive on the Market Board.
Do people still go to Eureka? I unlocked it but never went there even one time. I don't even know how to get there! But maybe I could farm it up for myself?

it's not super doable solo at the moment but the devs have indicated that they intend to change that soonish

Those glamours might still be super cheap on the market though, a lot of them were like 1k gil each before the expansion.
I have a quick question about the MCH 80 set - can you wear the goggles by adjusting the non-existent visor, or are they just on the hat? Because I love me some goggles, and goggles + hat would be ideal.

Thoughts on the story so far in shadowbringers for what i have done in it so far.
I don't like Ran "I'm going to hit you like a baby but then beat your ass in the cutscene." Jit at all. He's boring
He's generally considered to be the weakest part of an otherwise great expansion. His appearances don't get less stupid.
This.
He suffers from the same BS Zenos does (I really don't get the devs' fascination with these wannabe rivals popping up... They're not interesting due to a combination of weak characterization and no buildup), but at least he seems to stay dead once the game lets you kill him.

I think it's just
writers taking the easiest route.
The game has some of the best writing in mmo's, or games in general.
But that just ends up really showing when writers/devs get lazy.

end-ShB stuff
They should have used the Jongleurs instead, those two were proper creepy from the outset and they could have built them up as escalating annoyances until another body horror transformation into Sin Eaters using Vauthry's "blessing".
Think for example what happens to the two jesters in FF9.
I liked this.
Character growth, dialogue, fights, pretty much all great.
Nero had some decent character growth, we learned more about Cid (the man just won't fill that damn kettle)...
The enemy was surprisingly sympathetic.
More backstory for Midgardsorm and the dragons.
Good stuff.
One, quite minor, issue i have with the raid story.
I do dislike the "undefinable" quality of human spirit thing they got going on there in the end.
Like, we have a branch of science (if not several) dedicated for defining the damn thing, there is nothing undefinable about it.
Sure i get it might not flow as well as a story, but i wish someone would, instead of going on about the undefinable quality of the spirit or soul or heart or whathaveyou, sit down and explain the AI about herd survival, adrenaline, human psychology and evolution of society (and just evolution in general).
All that good stuff.
Oh look Ran'jit popped up again and he did nothing in the actual fight but suddenly he's breaking free and look he's cosplaying zenos by pointlessly killing off his own man because said man had the audacity to try and strike a deal when we're all in trouble i'm literally scowling anytime boring ass mc-diet zenos pops up

Slow and steady kind of thing. Do the dailies ya get 110 sacks, plus 100 for the weekly. good way to level chocobos too.
It's also good experience as well. Plus you'll want the nuts come 5.1, when the tokens for the upgrade items come available.
