Uni (oo-nee) is the Japanese name for the edible part of the Sea Urchin. While colloquially referred to as the roe (eggs), uni is actually the animal's gonads (which produce the milt or roe). Uni ranges in color from rich gold to light yellow, and has a creamy consistency that some love and is off-putting to others.
I would never try fugu for any reason. There are other foods I can eat that don't have a chance at killing me in a horrific fashion if someone fucked up one of the many steps to prepare it.

It's really not like that.
In the same way that water doesn't flush backwards in Australia, you shouldn't base your life experience on episodes of the simpsons.

Simpsons? What? I can count the number of episodes of the Simpsons I've seen on two fingers.
Pufferfish carries the neurotoxin known as tetrodotoxin. Anyone who ingests the toxin, and it takes very little to kill, will find out very quickly what it's like to die of asphyxiation while not being able to move a muscle. This is not a fate I am ever willing to chance for a bit of food.
There are lots of food that will kill you if prepared poorly
Fugu isn't dangerous if you're eating at an actually decent restaurant because the chef will have been properly trained in its preparation
Should you eat fugu from, like, a street cart in an alley? Probably not. But no restaurant wants to literally kill its customers and will be throughly checking that it is safe
In the vid the guy says around six people die in Japan each year from eating it.
Roughly 3,000 people die in the US from food poisoning each year. Likely for the same reasons, eating poorly prepared food at restaurants that aren't up to safety standards or preparing it at home either incorrectly or with expired ingredients.

6 people a year is an incredibly small number
You're comparing one set of numbers across all cuisines to another set of numbers for one very specific food that is probably pretty costly for all the preparation that's necessary to make it.

depends on how many times it's served per year, and while I agree the odds are incredibly slim, probably even astronomical, food poisoning isn't a good comparison. Yea 3000 people died, but thats out of roughly 358 billion meals eaten, the percentage change of dying from food poisoning is stupendously low. I imagine the chance of dying from Fugu is orders of magnitude higher than the general baseline of food poisoning.

Have you travelled by automobile at any time in your life?
Because if you're worried about the statistical likelihood of dying from Fugu poisoning, you really don't want to look up traffic accident fatality statistics...
I like to think he's innately capable of holding his breath for so long that being incapable of moving or breathing for 24ish hours is just very inconvenient.

I wonder what the difference is, between chance of death per average length car trip, and per meal of fugu. Might have to run those down.

I was not a fan at all
Is that a joke? I would say it's more chewy and slightly gelatinous.
It has an extremely mild flavor, it is a delicacy because of its unique texture, and of course the difficulty of preparing it.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
The only questions is, who?

Strange, when I looked up the figures before my trip it was more like one person per year for the last two decades.

I will never eat again
100% of people who don't eat food die
challenge accepted
The only way to avoid dying is to not be born
can't fail
you don't get to die until god is satisfied with your punishment
first one, then th'other
So he’ll never be satisfied but then feel really bad about it later?
Maybe it's some innate desire to fight a mammoth or like, a big sloth but I feel like it's only fair if my food can kill me.
What if you just set some mood music for your meal?
Bad food thread, listen to me.
I just met a man who said he can make me a McRib sushi roll.
