Late to the party - Morrowind

Ok, I broke down and put the 6200 in my Windows box, and just bought a copy of Eder Scrolls, Game of teh Year Edition.
Now, I'm more interested in playing with the engine more so than playing the mae (I'm sure the game is awesomesauce too). A few years ago I watched my cousin play the holy living hell out of the game, so I know what's up.

What are the critical mods I need? Where should I go for mod community? I needs me some modding tutorials too. What is the learning curve. How hard is it to make a new player model. (I have blender, and know how to use it). I remember seeing Ian work on his "Mog Mod" and it seems to be no small task.

Do any TCs exist? What is the most amazing thing you've seen done with the engine?

Better Bodies and Better Faces are a good start. They're a massive improvement for all character models in the game. Other than that, I can't think of anything truly 'necessary' off the top of my head.

Cliff Racers Extinction mod is necessary after the first hour or so.

Combat Enhanced is buggy and crash-prone, and Cliff Racer mods are for fetchers.

Morrowind's buggy and crash-prone regardless. Stable games have never exactly been Bethesda's forté.

But yeah, mods that remove Cliff Racers altogether are pretty dumb. Get one that makes non-diseased/blighted Racers non-hostile, but getting one that wipes them out entirely takes a lot out of the atmosphere.

    Blender has NIF import/export....

I played the game enough to get the end user viewpoint of the engine. I absolutely digested the scripting doc las night. I'm going to see if I can't make a RPG drama
