NXT just became a dumping ground for talent WWE didn't want, but didn't want others to have. That's not a knock on the talent, Adam Cole should be a world champ up on the roster with UE and Brock and Cain shouldn't be anywhere at all. But it is what it is, the main roster has who WWE wants, but they need somewhere to stock the people they don't want AEW to have.
This is pretty much it, by the way. Which has worked to NXT's benefit, as they're stocked with excellent talent and have a writing staff that, more often than not, knows what to do with it in a way that works excellently as a contrast to main roster WWE. But the old system of using NXT as a way to get talent acclimated to television without throwing them to the wolves on the main roster has given way to essentially an Indies all-star show where there isn't much in the way of upward movement because both Raw and Smackdown are overflowing with unused talent. It even creates a situation like with Breezango, where those guys practically begged to head back to NXT; I wouldn't be surprised if Finn was the same way. Which is all great for the brand but makes things even more full. It makes me understand why they want to push these global NXT brands, if only so they can send people off to train and work in different areas and lessen the burden on NXT Prime.
There are legitimately people on Twitter responding to the ACH thing (and other instances like it) with thoughts like, "You should just be happy to have a shirt" or "There can't be racism in WWE and professional wrestling in general if they let Kofi be champion!"
These people are obviously not clued in to the history of the business. This didn't happen all too long ago, in fact:

I know they're dark matches and don't count but they ran Seth vs the Fiend after Raw again, for what must be the third or fourth week in a row, and it ended by Seth applying multiple stomps, escaping a cage, and then the Fiend clawing him afterwards. I don't get why they keep running this match and outcome but it does not give me hope for Crown Jewel.
It won't be referenced but he was losing dark matches to Seth before losing at HIAC, and then they have him go over at the end each time. Which was the result of HIAC. It doesn't matter if they reference it or not, since it's their outline for how they see Seth and the Fiend, and the Fiend losing at Crown Jewel will put that last nail in the character.
There will be no live AEW Dynamite episode on Wedneaday December 25th, a holiday highlights special will run. Talent will be off from Dec 19th to January 1st.
Taeler Hendrix still hasn't been booked anywhere since she went public that Lethal tried to get her blackballed from ROH for refusing to sleep with him
So last night we went to Jimmy Lloyd's Halloween Frightfest which was a blast. The main event was Shotzi Blackheart vs Jimmy Lloyd in what was presumably her last indie match, and it ruled. I've never gotten to see Shotzi in person and I'm so glad we did, she is an absolute badass.
During the GCW title match between Nick Gage and Ruckus the lights went out, a wrestler from Cleveland who was on the card as a replacement for Tony Deppen set off a fireball, and then fucking RSP appeared. Gage and Ruckus teamed up to kick his ass, Gage chased him out of the building down to Chinatown, and the match was called a no contest.
Noted Taco Bell enthusiast Alex Zayne did a totally wild and unnecessary swanton off the balcony right near us, and then Teddy Hart (who wasn't actually on the show at all and just there hanging out) jumped in the ring and cut a rambling promo about how indie wrestling is spreading like marijuana (???) and then said that Bret Hart was gonna come to GCW which I don't think is a promise he can make.
Also, after the first match a guy comes up behind me and says "hey, is there room where I can squeeze in here?" and I was a little annoyed because we'd reserved this spot but whatever there was room so we scooted over. And of course that guy was Joey Janela.

The Teddy promo would have been my pop of the night any other night but Zayne had to do that balcony dive. (I was scared throughout that spot watching at home thinking he was gonna clip the ceiling fan)
Shotzi ruled, Dickinson rules, and Gage is never getting physical possession of that belt back lol

Ouchy, even with it being on fs1 that's still not a good number with as much money as fox spent to get smackdown.
I await Austin Vs Hogan on smackdown.

963k, AEW Dynamite's lowest rating. Every single Dynamite had more viewers
It's absolutely this. And it wasn't for lack of promotion either, Fox main was still plugging the show all week specifically saying it'd be on FS1

Eh...she actually comes to the ring with a fan every time, though. That, at least, is part of her character. Don't see how it's dodgy.
Well its at least honest to how the WWE is doing things right now.

...and we can still see WWE with some racial missteps (whether innocent or not) on the regular in the present day, like this:
speaking of Kairi...
she's not a pirate anymore >:(

Oh, thank goodness for that, then.
