I really like AEW so far but there was a lot of fluff in Dark this week that I just skipped and I'm really tired of how hard they are pushing the Dentist wrestler.
I'm aware of who she is purely from aew but I've no idea why she's challenging for the title or why people should be excited about it. It's great for diversity but at least one of them should have some identity about them.
There's an entire teahcer vs student story between Emi and Riho that hopefully they'll go into detail about on the show tonight. If most of the audience ends up viewing it as just a standard title defense through no fault of their own that would be really disappointing.
I am always shocked by how over Cody is in AEW. He's just not that good of a wrestler compared to everybody else in the company. I know he is the driving force in the company being made, but good for him.

I do have a small problem with this, though, and that's that I think AEW has written themselves into a corner here. I don't feel like Cody winning the belt just yet is the right move, but the alternative, Cody not being able to challenge for the belt ever again, is taking too many options off the table, especially this early on. And if AEW really wants to stick to the idea of wins and losses mattering and what not, they can't just renege on the stipulation.

I think it would be fine, because you can use that when you want to turn Cody heel. Some good guy wins the belt and Cody abuses his power and they remind him of that moment, and he just says he didn't sign any paperwork or something like that.

God, I hope not. A heel authority figure being able to flout the rules because they're in charge is just so... WWE.

As long as Omega and the Bucks stay good guys its not as bad. It's only if he's fully in charge it's a bad thing.
Tonight's episode had its moments. Lead up to Full Gear, it could have been more, but I'm not turned off watching this like I have been in recent Raw/Smackdowns, even with NXT invading being their best storyline in recent history.

I have no idea who Sakura is, or why I should be excited about the match, which is a big problem AEW keeps having.
Emi Sakura is the cool Freddie Mercury lady, she's had some matches in AEW already

This was a Bar Brawl Fatal 4 Way in which the winner had to score a pinfall and then drink an uninterrupted pint
That's a way better name than DDT gives that gimmick which IIRC is Beer Drinking Match
I need VOD for this shit like I need blood in my veins.

Was this in the Shayna/Dakota match? Because he actually said “savage scrap”. Still cheesy, but not as horrifying.
