You'd think everyone would figure out after he gave a speech at the climax of his war of extermination vs a religious group, where he said-

Actually, what he said basically doesn't matter. Those circumstances in which he said it should be enough.

Isekai. Long title. Truck-kun still murdering high schoolers left and right.
Got a female lead though and it looks cute enough. Will watch.

I've been reading this one and is happy to see it animated, it's quite enjoyable.

I looked up that anime and found out that she is indeed average.
Her magical ability is exactly half as strong as the strongest creature in the world, so technically she is indeed average.

This is why jackass genies/gods are a pain

For this show, it's intended to be nice. The God in Average is a pretty benevolent fellow and he wanted to be nice to her, since she died doing something heroic. And in his estimation, her wish of being human average would be actively suicidal in the world she was entering.

So, over the past few weeks I've been binge reading various series, since I fell behind on manga a few years back. (I've mostly only read big series I was really into and things that pop up on Dynasty Scans, a yuri-focused site, in that time).

I've started and/or caught up with
    • Black Clover (started meh, got good)
    • Kimetsu no Yaiba (kinda 'alright' across the board, feels like a much older series)
    • Fairy Tail and 100 Year Quest (I like FT, even if it's stupid)
    • Edens Zero (less dumb than Fairy Tail, pretty good so far)
    • 7 Deadly Sins (always feels kinda jank, but fine)
    • Zettai Karen Children (I love this dumb crap)
    • Yumekui Merry (excellent)
    • Noragami (excellent)
    • Ao no Exorcist (fine)
    • World Trigger (fun)
    • Darwin's Game (gotta read at least one dumb death game series)
    • Uramikoi, Koi, Uramikoi (excellent)
    • Akatsuki no Yona (always good)

...and a few others I might get side-eye over. Rom-coms and fanservice-heavy shonen.

Most recently, started and caught up on Fire Force, which is alright. I think I liked Soul Eater more, but it's still alright. It took nearly 200 chapters, but Okubo is finally addressing one of the worst parts of it.
Tamaki only ever getting to be a joke, and nothing else.

Next up to start is Dr. Stone (seems interesting, is that the Sun Ken Rock artist?), and next up to catch up on is UQ Holder (a favorite).

(I was always keeping up with One Piece, Hero Academia, Tokyo Ghoul, Shingeki no Kyojin, and a few other random things).

Half-way through The Price of Smiles.
Apparently the actual price of smiles is almost every thing you love and care about. Because in war, people die. And this series is absolutely about a Kingdom losing a war to an Empire and I'm getting a vague impression there's some Japan v. USA stuff here.

It'll be interesting to see if they manage to wrap everything up in 12 episodes, or if this is basically just the first chapter in a longer story.

Another walk proposed by one of viewers. I did walk in Akihabara many times, this time I was asked to visit specific places related to Steins; Gate anime.

    Filmed in UltraHD 4K 60p with Lumix GH5 camera, 8-18 f2.8-4 lens, Beholder EC1 stabilizer and Audio-Technica AT9946CM mic.
Feel free to correct my English or suggest a video to film.

[*] Black Clover (started meh, got good)

It really is kinda nuts how much this improves, honestly. The most recent arc that just finished is straight-up great. I was expecting it to let off the gas a tad in the trial, but this week seems be going NOPE, FUCK THAT.

I'll also note the improvement is extending to the anime, now, too. Anime just STARTED that great arc, so it's in for some good times, but the animation for certain fights which just finished is actually pretty good by any standard (backgrounds aside), not just for how poor its animation has been.
    [*] World Trigger (fun)

I love this series. I'm so glad it's back to updating regularly again. For people who aren't familiar because this dropped off the face of the planet a few years ago, premise is that earth is one of many dimensions that orbit around one another. When two worlds are close enough, people can pass across the worlds to invade. From the other worlds, they seek people with lots of trion (read: energy/power, but it's not like.."powerful" people, weak people can have a lot that goes unused), which is is used both to power weapons and keep their worlds alive. Earth, being one of the largest, is targeted a lot, so they created an organization called Border which fights them, yaddah yaddah. Details and mechanics aren't important for the explanation because they're the point. What World Trigger does well is two, very specific things: First, the main character is not a badass. He doesn't become a badass. He doesn't have much trion, he's not super skillful, he is, in every way, about as "normal" as one can be in this setting, and it doesn't change that. Very mild spoilers
What it seems to be settling into is that he's capable of reading peoples' emotions and desires well - not like "empath" level, but that he actually takes the time to pay attention, so he's able to design tactics around the sort of things that can cause chaos in the battlefield
    .

The second thing it does better than probably any manga I've read is tactics. The majority of the series has been taken up by the equivalent of an internal sports tournament arc where different teams are competing against one another for the right to go on an off-world mission. Usually these are pitting multiple teams against one another, each team is composed differently, where the battle takes place matters, people are placed randomly. So you've got supports and gunners and close combat and snipers all being placed on a board randomly, trying to find one another and stay alive and then carry out their respective plans, and so there's a bunch of planning into what would work in a given situation, how to use the landscape to your advantage, how to use your teammates and misdirection to your advantage, the whole nine yards. Yes, there are "powerful" people who can overcome and mess with things, but this series is goddamn tactics porn.

It had an anime, I understand it wasn't good, it stopped after 51 episodes. The mangaka had a spine problem and has been in and out of the hospital, so the series mostly stopped getting released for years. It's now settled into a monthly release schedule, where he does two weekly-length chapters each month. I'm happy it's still continuing :)
Next up to start is Dr. Stone (seems interesting, is that the Sun Ken Rock artist?), and next up to catch up on is UQ Holder (a favorite).

    Yep, it's Boichi.

Unfortunately not. He hasn't been in it much at all lately, at least.

    Most recent chapter:
His sister was just almost executed so I'd expect him to reappear next chapter
