Tskushima's arc is one of the best in Haikyuu. His character archetype offers the potential for some really strong character arcs in a sports series. I'm thinking Mitsui in Slam Dunk and Kine in H2, both of which I think have the most powerful moments in their respective series even though they are not the protagonist.
I'm extremely hype for the upcoming fourth season.
Anyone watching 'Babylon' this season? They released the first 3 episodes at once. I am not entirely sure what direction this show is planning on going but it is an interesting cop thriller so far.
Sorry for exploding that by posting Black Clover's new OP :P
Also, re: Baccano ending when it did, I think that its ratings were rather poor and it was cancelled because of that (hence why everyone was so surprised/pleased by the 3 bonus episodes on the DVDs). DVD sales were quite high and it became a bit of a cult classic after the fact.
i feel like not watching a dub because one actor in the dub is a piece of shit is... well, I don't think that actually accomplishes anything.
like i'm certain that no VA is getting a cut of the profits on any dubbed anime.
If the project was produced AFTER the person was widely revealed to be a piece of shit, then I’m gonna have to disagree. That’s where you can voice your displeasure of their decision to hire by withholding your dollar or your viewer count.
If it came out before stuff became public knowledge, just think about if that person likely still profits and make a decision as you see fit.
Oh and if we're talking about EDs I mean the OP is also legendary but this is maybe my favorite ED? I mean it's just because of the song but I think that song is that good. Great even. A masterpiece. (Okay I maybe continously go back to listen to all of the Cowboy Bebop OST like at least twice a year) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxUbgEHP2Qg
It's not a unique problem to anime that in a generally free-form discussion when OPs come up, the sheer quantity of good older material quickly starts to dominate the discussion. There's just so much that's so good! Some of them have become highly influential classics or standards, too! In fact, if we merely spent all our time discussing things that only are up to 10 years old, we wouldn't even have touched on anything older than 2009, which is kind of astonishing in terms of just how much we have.
I think that's why sometimes it's worth it to try just picking on restricted timeframes of things, so that the now-iconic/strongly influential things don't totally take over the discussion. Those things have the enduring power they do for good reasons, but that power is often overwhelming. That question gets interesting too when the music involved is licensed music that is older. Like, when Penguindrum was a new anime (we're olllllllllllllllllllld omfg), it was interesting to see how it had a lot of music that was new arrangements/singings of songs from an older band. The 2ch infamous Speed Grapher used Duran Duran's "Girls on Film". Jojo's use of "Roundabout" needs no introduction, but for many viewers it was their introduction to that band and that song. Akagi's use of NANTOKANARE is one of the most perfectly melancholy fits for that post-war setting and the nihilistic worldview of that story.

ROW ROW FIGHT THA POWA
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
boy it's interesting in retrospect how almost all the footage in the US DBZ opening was taken from the films rather than the TV show, that's where all the real good fight animation was I guess
One Piece was also a case of already being familiar with the show before the 4kids version hit tv.
A reverse case was Cardcaptors, that was one that caught our attention enough that we looked into the actual Cardcaptor Sakura back in the day.
It too had one of those make sure you say the name of the show enough times theme songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ6scyFUcdM

A lot of it is non-union work for hire, so no.
It is extremely uncommon for VAs to get residuals.
It's why the VA union went on strike years back.
CONFIRMED?!
And even then, that was for video games and American-produced animation and such.
Doing dub work is a completely different kettle of fish.

So people can probably rest easy that dude isn’t making any money off streaming the dub unless you just don’t want to hear his dumb voice.
That last episode was pretty wild though.

Not for anime, they're non-union.
Also, this is the best insert song, obviously.

I have never actually watched this show, but the opening is all kinds of ridiculous.

And this one isn’t anime, but it has one of the grooviest theme songs ever.

That show is maybe the most sour I've ever gotten on a series, kept going and then ended up liking overall.

catchy for some reason
Funimation also did an english theme for original Dragon Ball, when they had dubbed the first 13 episodes of it. I quite like it.
