Remnant 2 - Losomn: Worlds Collide
The result of two worlds merging, Losomn is one of chaos and confusion.

Trying to look up Dran and Fae cause they sound familiar but nope seems like two new races in a newly messed up situation. Seems fun!

The Remnant 2 devs had a gameply livestream

spoilers for the game included obviously but that looks like more Remnant to me, haven't watched the whole thing yet, though

Just cleared my second campaign run-through yesterday. It really makes me wonder how stats truly work in this game, comparing two characters with campaign-clearing builds to a brand new character who compares favorably to us in most respects. Like, my DPS isn't THAT much better with a level 20 weapon, a ring to increase ranged damage, and the range damage + perk at rank 20. See also: Defense. Three pieces of level 20 armor, range defense + perk at 13 or 14, health + perk at 20... the final boss can one tap me with that rocket move if I don't dodge it. Is there a Destiny-esque stat equalization happening somewhere here?

In any case, I will be trying the DLC stuff for the first time coming up this week.

Don't let it happen again. I rely on you for all up to the minute Remnant II updates.

Re. said update, man this game looks pretty. Might be time to splurge on a 4k monitor at long last.

Cleared the story DLC campaign with the rats and the new vault. Good stuff with distinct new bosses and a very solid final boss. One very noticeable issue though. In that final boss fight, there's a mid-fight cutscene before the second phase. On repeat battles, you'll naturally want to skip that to keep going. However, when I did that (as host), my teammates did not have the cutscene skipped for them, and in fact COULD NOT skip it. The fight proceeded with them instantly gibbed for standing still. Even wilder, as I quickly died and proceeded into the You Died loading screen... they were STILL in the cutscene. They had to watch the whole thing before the game would acknowledge we were all 3 dead and restart from checkpoint! I have literally NEVER seen a co-op game make such a huge unforced error before. On repeat battles, we HAD to watch that scene every time or my allies would be stuck in the cutscene dimension, instantly killed for being defenseless. Thank God we were able to quickly put that boss down, being forced to watch that somewhat lengthy scene again and again after every failure would have completely tanked the whole DLC for us.

Also, it's very bad that playing the DLC campaign wipes out your main campaign save. That's a completely unnecessary and shitty way to implement it.

    Next time, the Swamp DLC.

Does the DLC have armour that contributes to the collect X pieces of armour trophy?

Doesn't seem like it, there's a bunch of new weapons and mods (and some new traits) though.

Damn that's the one trophy thats a total pain in the ass.

Seems like 10 Survival mode bosses would be the toughest, since you can just look up where all the secret armor is hiding and reroll until the conditions are right.

I don't care about DLC trophies as they don't contribute to the platinum :P

Edit: I also don't own the DLC and I don't really intend to get it. I am 100% buying the sequel on release though.

If you are actively looking forward to the sequel, I would say the one DLC (the subject 2923 one) is worth the $5 or so they frequently have it on sale for. It's two areas that are brand new in style to anything else in the game with a bunch of bosses dissimilar to ones fought in the original campaign. If you like the story, it adds a good bit to what happened on Earth as well. No idea if 2 will be strongly connected to what happened in this one, they might just run with the concept of exploring other worlds and fighting stuff without any worry to what's already happened. No opinion on the Swamp DLC, yet.

Swamps is interesting if you are playing a lot of Adventure or want to try Survival, for the added options / fights, but negligible in story impact.

The Carapace and Labyrinth sets are also pretty good, if kind of a process to get.

Subject 2923 is by a long way the better add-on, though. Not even close.

Subject 2923 is somewhat essential as it has characters and story that are directly reflected in the sequel. I'd say definitely get that one.

Swamp DLC: Wow, this Iskal Queen boss is HORRIBLE. Just overtuned to a silly degree. Attacks that come out too quickly, combine unfairly, and do too many things at once. Just standing in the wrong place for an attack she hasn't even signaled yet can be enough to instantly get mulched, that's really bad design.

Can pre-purchase for $50 for early access to gunslinger archetype? Is it still in development? And does that mean the cultist equivalent won't be released right away?

Started up a new playthrough of 1, I think I'm too slow for playing on Hard out the gate, I mean I almost beat Earth but Singe giving me a hard time.

No more armor perks? So we can get more fashion souls!

Oh! You can basically play the handler right now with the doggo mod with just 1 piece of cultist armor the cooldown is reset long before the expiration is up.

I like Remnant's aesthetic. Like Warframe, everyone looks like they're clay and I want to poke them.

Played through the base game and Subject DLC (ok mostly carried but still). Damn, game still has no right being this good and easily preordered 2.

Have to try the Swamps DLC though I hear it is middling. Still gives me a bunch of hope for 2.

Edit: I think I did a complete run of adventure crosus and while it's nice to vary it up it would have been stronger as its own dlc like Subject.

Survival mode is rather compelling though. I didn't know a roguelite mode would be this engaging.

I'm basically caught up now for my replay for 2 but if anyone wants a coop buddy for something I'll be around.

I'm surprised it's not more popular, it's such a unique interesting world. I'm glad they aren't launching till end of July. I'd almost push that window back into August to get as much space from D4 as possible.

I think I'm still visible in the PA discord. Feel free to poke me thru that for Survival runs or co-op things. I wouldn't mind getting some rust off before 2.

Picked up the DLC for the first game and wrapped it up the other night.
The big thing was confronting the architect of all the bad stuff from the original campaign, Haarsgard. You only really hear about him if you obsessively ferret out lore documents and computer files... which I do. He isn't mentioned much in spoken dialogue if you just follow the story beats, but you can find his logs all over the place, especially in the DLC, and man he was an asshole. It really makes confronting him a lot more satisfying. Great name too, definitely sells 'mad scientist.'

He seemed pretty convincingly destroyed, but I kind've hope he shows up in the sequel again. We also get the name 'Clawbone' dropped a lot too as some kind of intelligent force associated with the Root, and I'm guessing it was all breadcrumbs pointing towards the next major villain. I wouldn't mind if whoever/whatever Clawbone is winds up resurrecting Haarsgard as a flunky.

Clawbone is also mentioned by Ford when you meet him at the end of the regular campaign, by the bye.

Edit: Not sure why this is age restricted, no mature content I could see.

Yeah there is definitely some issues with unwrapping some names.

    Like the Dragon isn't Singed.
    The Devourer is the Dreamer?
It intrigues me, but they could work on making it clearer.

Yeah, it's also said in a few scattered files here and there in the main campaign. But they really hammer on it in the DLC. Guy just won't shut up about how great they are.

Right, the elements of Chronos are still kind've nebulous for how much of an impact they have on present events.

'The Dragon' is a term for the Root and/or Clawbone, seemingly the 'leader' of the Root.
Singed uses the same dragon model as the last boss of Chronos, who bragged about conquering worlds so I guess is meant to be a representation of Clawbone or a vessel they were using.
The Dreamer that acts as the final boss of the main campaign is the protagonist from Chronos, and was called 'the Devourer' because they killed guardians that protected worlds from the Root. Something Haarsgard takes credit for in the DLC, incidentally.

Gunfire should put out a timeline or something.
