Can anyone suggest a could place to find more interesting screen savers than the ones provided with Windows?

I tried a forum search, it turned up some information about trojans and attempting to refresh a monitor screen without using them. : \

Thanks for any help!

Browse sourceforge for them. That way you'll be able to see the source code for the screen savers.

Oh god. When I was younger, me and my friends wanted to burn the Harry Potter books.

    Then I moved to Georgia.

Just a heads up, most monitors these days will be fine if you don't use a screen saver.

Yes, but the temporary effects of leaving a LCD on for too long are pretty annoying, even if they aren't damaging to the monitor.

If your worried about your LCD blowing up it may be worth setting the Windows power settings so that it turns the monitor off (or onto standby) after a certain amount of time.

In Windows XP goto Start>Control Panel>Power Options and tweak the settings so that the monitor gets turned off.

For screen savers Google is your Friend, however you cannot beat the classic Matrix numbers screensaver, every other websites do them but this one is the one I use.

Any decent Flying Toaster screen savers for XP, yet? The one included in Ubuntu is pretty so-so.

Moppi Flower Saver, made by these guys, is one of the neatest looking savers I've seen in a while. It was good enough for me to start using a screensaver again, after having never used one for years.

What's espescially great is with a few quick steps, you can get it to sync to music. The effect is pretty cool once you've got it tweaked right - great for something interesting to watch while listening to music.

If you can find them anywhere the old After Dark screensavers were great. The "Totally Twisted" set was hilarious.
