We were doing semi stealth runs in LBRS just the paladin and whomever we did as a 5th were the problems and had to listen how to do things but yes it was a good 90 minutes
They talk about timers for garrisons being a big deal, but it just makes me think they played Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
When they added demon hunters they have demon powers, like Illidan. Something that was portrayed as a bad thing when Illidan did it and led to him being a bad guy.
Oh, yeah, in Legion they're called Illidari, they're basically a cult following of Illidan. Illidan is also pretty much revealed to be a good guy in that expac, and his followers are supes helpful in dealing with the invasion.
Also in Legion it's revealed that the Light isn't all it's cracked up to be, either. Lots of Yin and Yang going on rather than Good vs. Evil.
i never played it but if it's anything like the DK starting zone, I'm sure that they twist themselves into a pretzel explaining that you're actually a GOOD demon hunter, just misunderstood

They basically borrow from the fel just like Warlocks do, only instead of bargains and shit it's taking on some of their aspects.
There really aren't evil demon hunters AFAIR in Legion. They're all basically out to murder Demons.
There is a lot of retconning Illidan to be a good guy with an 11-dimensional chess agenda, however.
Goes a little far, too, what with a naaru trying to absorb him/take over him, and everyone's shocked and he's like, "See I fucking told you!" Like he could predict that happening.
Yeah they do a whole "actually Illidan was protecting Azeroth from the shadows all along and the whole thing on Outland was just a big misunderstanding tee hee" thing, it's kind of hilarious. The demon hunter intro quests end with portalling back to the black temple from a raid on a legion world, right as Illidan loses his boss fight on top of the black temple, and then you get captured along with him and put in stasis in a warden prison until the beginning of Legion. When the legion shows up they attack the prison and steal Illidan's body, and the wardens let you out since they've lost control of the place. The legion wants to stick Sargeras into Illidan's body, the players thwart that plan in the Nighthold raid by sticking Illidan's soul back into it instead, so Illidan is now more or less officially on the good guy side. Anything bad his forces did on Outland has been retconned to be either morally grey hard choices going too far because no sacrifice is too great to stop the legion etc., or was the result of minions that were secretly working for the legion like Kael'thas. Even fucking Akama and the Broken come back to work for the Illidari again like nothing ever happened.
I mean, it’s retconned in the demon hunter intro; just as illidan launches his attack on the legion the players show up and defeat him. The player DH returns to the black temple from a successful raid and is captured.
His enormous harem and broken slaves are conveniently ignored
The funny thing is that during Legion when the player is being shown how great a guy illidan supposedly was... he still comes off as a huge (like, really gigantic) asshole.
Though, that little scenario where you do the BT encounter as illidan was kinda neat.
hold your head high soldier, it ain't over yet

I always though Illidan was more of a cop on the edge who was willing to do whatever to solve his problems. Basically like with what Arthus did, before the decision to change him into a crazy guy hearing voices from Frostmourn or whatever.

Hes basically just an asshole whos got a 10 thousand year vendetta against the burning legion that he lets cloud his judgement.
Most of the illidari stuff in BC is explained by player factions being manipulated into taking out a threat to the legion, Illidan losing his mind, and focusing so much on blowing up demon worlds he didnt bother to keep the terrible people he made alliances with in line.

Quick question about the mount riding skill. I finally got mine on my Orc and the skill is specifically called wolf riding, does that mean I can't ride the skeletal horse from Stratholme if I got it?
It is surprisingly difficult to find info on the riding skill or I'm just looking in all the wrong places.

I noticed that the standard racial mounts are bind on use, so could I trade with another player to bypass the exalted rep requirement? Or do you actually need to learn that race's riding skill?

requires exalted to get the specific riding skill to use it

Would have been fun if you could get the enemy's mounts from the goblin auction house.
Knocking out the Onyxia attune over on Friday was such a huge …. "Ahh, that's out of the way" moment. The only sad thing is the PUG I was with cut through UBRS like a buzzsaw, which is NOT how I remember it at all. I attribute it to 1.12 talents / 10 people / less latency / more knowledgeable gearing.

I mean in vanilla for a LONG time 15 man was actually the standard. It started at 40 and got knocked to 15, then later reduced to 10.

Back in vanilla I got my night elf rogue's black nightsaber mount out of the horde auction house for 20g So using the goblin black market was tricky since it required someone else on vent or such because the snipe bots were starting to be placed at this time
Yeah, I remember my guild taking 30 in to get people Onyxia attuned, and it wasn't hard at all with 15, 30 etc. I am probably just more remembering 5.
Yeah I think by the time 1.12 rolled around, 5 was standard. I did a 15 once before it was reduced, and never did above 5 after that.

someone randomly invited me to a UBRS raid at level 55 because they were hardup for a healer, only did up to Rend
and thats how I walked away with pauldrons of elements and briarwood reed (there were cries from the 6 level 60 casters who also needed on it when i lucksacked the roll)

hey they wouldnt have been able to do the dungeon without the healer and wouldnt have even had a chance to roll. I wouldnt worry about it, im sure you'll end up healing that place plenty of time more.
re: illidan whitewashing: please pay no attention to all the mind-controlled sex/torture/sex torture slaves being kept in the black temple, they're just being respectful of succubus and maiden of pain culture by letting them keep pets, nothing evil about that right? Also don't mind the amalgam of draenai souls screaming eternally in the basement, that was Magtheridon's and they can't get it up the stairs so they just put a blanket over it and try to ignore it.

Uh, the DK starting zone is explicit that you’re an evil puppet of the Lich King, right up until Fordring frees you from his control. And losing control of certain undead is a thing established in Warcraft 3, so that is hardly an asspull.
Compare this to Illidan, who is an ends-justify-the-means guy that is constantly putting people in peril because of it. Let’s melt Arthas with this artifact. Whoops! It’s fucking up the planet. This is established firmly in Warcraft 3, and in WoW he’s shown to have lost it. If Legion actually acknowledged instead of Actually Popular Character Did Nothing Wrong: A Revisionist Quest Chain, then it would have been fine. Hey Illidari! You kinda blindly followed your leader there despite him going mad, allying with amoral fuckmuppets, and enslaving locals. But the Legion is here and we need every warm body we can get, so we’ll free you in exchange for fighting our common enemy.
But nah.

Also in BC they added the demon form for Warlocks that looked pretty identical to Illidan's transform in WC3.
But there being a buttload of demon hunters with demon powers besides Illidan seems like it would be a major revelation.
I don't know if its presented like that in-game and it doesn't come across in the video, but it'd surprise me.

He had a plan but he was also going insane from the wound Arthas inflicted on him so theres reason to think it wouldnt have held up.

I suspect it just doesn't require anything, since it's BoP. Maybe level 60?
