Yeah he's incredibly soft but is also a ball of tiny knives. He doesn't mean to hurt anyone of course but oh boy do my hands (and feet, and legs) say otherwise.
He's such a cuddler though, once he's done playing and wants to nap he just wants to be on one of his humans, preferably laying against their face or splayed out on their arm.
That "Dune Re-dub" parody trailer has ruined the film for me. Looking at that picture, what pops in my head isn't the actual dialogue from the scene, but "put your god-damned hand in the god-damned box of pain" in a silly voice.

Oh that's why I posted it! I figured it would get someone.

My house is the house of kitty drama these days. Slightly non-cuddle-huggy stuff behind spoilers. It's nothing too harsh, may cats are just the theater-kids of the cat world.
Drama of the moment is: Something spooked Cora really hard yesterday, and now she's about as timid as she was when we first started opening the door to her bathroom to let her explore. These past weeks she's been coming out every morning as I start work at my desk, either exploring my office or settling down next to me to use my computer bag as a bed. When setting next to me, she'd periodically give a small meow to let me know it was time to give her pets and scritches. Because she acted so spooked yesterday that today I left her bathroom door shut. I did go in to cuddle her, which she seemed to like; she hardly let me cuddle her at all yesterday and didn't purr at all, but today she purred and kneaded on my arm. When I left and shut the door again, she did her sad Cora song so I opened it, but she didn't actually come out of the room, just poked her head out a couple of times. She also tried crying again so I know that what she wants is for me to hang out in the room, but I can't do that because work! Hopefully she'll be back to herself again in a few days.
As to what scared her, I'm not 100% sure, but I think a big part of it was that Runty, while exploring a couple of nights ago, went into Cora's cat cave inside her bathroom. Cora was in my room lying next to me at the time but was apparently so unnerved at the smell of Runty that she hasn't gone in her cat cave since. Our adult cats have gone into that cave before without Cora being bothered, and her original cat cave (that we sent with Vetra and Liam to their new home) actually came from Runty's room. I guess it's been long enough since she last smelled Runty that she thinks that's a stranger cat now. sigh.
And Cora's actually the easy one! Runty has not seemed to make any progress in becoming friends with Cassandra. Anytime she and Cassandra are in the same room, Runty yowls like she's dying, and they eventually get into a fight with one or both of them retreating. I keep hoping that Runty will eventually get the point that Cassandra is the boss, not her, but she never has. Nothing we do seems to help, and I hate that Cassandra is being made to feel unwelcome in parts of the house where she is most comfortable (namely our bedroom). I hate the idea of adopting Runty out when we have had her so long, but it may come to that. Our next step, I think, is to try getting Runty on some anti anxiety medication temporarily to see if that helps her chill out in being afraid of Cassandra.
black cats are the cutest no i will not be accepting any questions at this time

Cora looks way more worried than a cat should. Can you explain to her that she doesn't have to pay bills? She looks like she's very concerned about making rent this month.

While she does generally carry more concern than most cats, she doesn't always look like that! Here's one of her in her safe space, the bathroom we set aside for her:
Here also is one of me giving her scritches in my office (yes it's horribly messy in there, don't judge me too hard. Especially please ignore the crumpled bottle, that was in the recycling bin but somehow made its way back to my room in time for this video)

Welp apparently my dad is heading up to pick up the dog. Apparently he growled once at one of the kids when trying to get a toy back, and once at one of parents when she grabbed his collar to stop him when he got loose while a tech was at their house. The hunt is back on for a home for him. Looks like he is going to need to be a working dog in a kid free (or teenager) home with people who can deal with dogs with behavioral issues and help fix them.
That's a pretty boss mouse. How much do you think they want for it?

Man, the cats we had when I was growing up would've been on that mouse like white on rice. All 3 of the girls were avid mousers (and chipmunk-ers, to our mothers' remorse), and though the boy might not have known quite what to do if he ever caught live prey, but oh man did he love to chase things.
The boy was originally my older sister's, but she'd gotten him from a friend's family that owned a farm, and he just wasn't happy in her little apartment. So she brought him to our parents' house, which was in a heavily wooded suburb, and he loved it. Personality-wise he was like a dopey, playful dog, while the bichon frise she had later on acted like a stereotypical cat in a number of ways. So I tease her about why did the pets she raised wind up so confused.

you need to air up your kitten

the 8:44 Dune redub video is better than David Lynch's Dune there I said it and I stand by it.
Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.

Cat tax:
Cora laying in her usual spot
Runty on her personal cat tree
Cassandra on her favorite spot on this couch
I mean, the new Dune is coming out in a handful of months.
That might have something to do with the rise of Dune awareness.
