of a "brave" cat fighting off a coyote. This cat is not brave, it is terrified and fighting for its life. Seeing the poor cat clinging to the post as the only means of escape after being bitten several times is heartbreaking to watch.
Do not watch nor share this vid unless to illustrate why cats should be kept indoors. Some pointed out this may have been a younger coyote and if it had been older/more experienced there would have been a different outcome.
I've seen enough videos like that to understand that somehow animals just simply do not know their top half from their bottom half - tails included but I've seen dogs and cats both gnawing at their own legs
and like, what's up with that. I've got two halves and I definitely know when I'm chewing on my toes
I wildly speculate that dogs and cats both have much stronger predatory instincts than humans do, which yells at them in their brain louder than their proprioception sense that it is their own body when it's mistaken for prey or another cat or dog or whatever.
Might also be some cases of they got an itchy leg and the only way to deal with that is biting it.

Today is Cora's birthday! She's officially 2 years old today. I'm amazed at how fast time goes, I still remember when she was a tiny kitten just weaned.
Anyway I got lucky and captured this video today. I'm really pleased with how good friends Cora and Runty have become since we moved to a bigger house and Runty got to start meeting Cora on her own terms.

Good man!
It's obvious they are very put out by the whole situation.

I choose to interpret this as the cat not trying to kill this individual but thinking they'll get caught

I need to get more of our cats' speeches on film. Alistair especially loves to "MOW MOW MOW" when it's time for cuddles.
