Ironsword is pretty good, or at least that's what nostalgia's telling me. I remember when you hit a boss, the entire screen would pulsate through psychadelic colors.
Hey I think I figured out what was causing motion sickness
It's a real bummer there aren't more options for Joy-Con grips. I was hoping for a variety of colors and printed graphics. There's a few I like but they're mostly out of print and rare as far as I can tell.

Hey Max, good to see you!
I really am interested in getting a good grip for portable use. The joy-cons as are work well but cramp my hands a bit when laying in bed playing. I like that one that Sporky showed. Is it hard to get the switch out of the shell when done?
So what's the best handle/grip thingie for the handheld Switch?
Not exactly what you're asking for, but I figured I'll just throw this in here for anyone who might be interested - I'm using this thing: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TDLRFKK
I'm really liking it! I haven't docked my Switch in well over a year, so I wanted something that would (1) protect the Switch from scratches, and (2) would make the whole thing feel more solid. I used a previous iteration of Mumba's case, and it did both of those things well but it was so difficult to get the Switch in and out of it. Further, one of my JoyCons has a contact that comes loose sometimes and requires me to slide it out and back in again; that was impossible with that case.
This new case, though, is almost as solid as the old one, lets me slide out the JoyCons easily, and is trivial to put on/take off. The old case had a level back, and the new case has slightly raised grips (which is why I'm mentioning this in relation to cooljammer00's question). If you're looking for prominent grips, these won't be big enough, but they definitely make a difference. I kinda wish there was a version of the case with a level back as well, as that's easier to fit into my hard-shell carrying case, but I like this thing enough to still use it.

Did SNES TMNT IV have different levels based on the difficulty? I know some Konami games did this, like the secret final boss in Contra III.
Anyways I thought it was still pretty challenging to beat on hard mode.
Not that I remember, but I just remember the game being like "cool you beat me, but try to beat me on hard" and then when you beat it on hard you load into the sewers and play against the other player in an underground dojo turtle fight supervised by splinter until you turn it off or reset.
I know the arcade version had a few different levels though
The only thing I remember about the difficulty changes were enemy numbers and placements, and on the hardest difficulty the red foot soldiers would block everything and as a result became very challenging to throw. That made the first boss fight against Shredder, where you need to toss the red foot soldiers at the screen to damage Shredder, pretty dang tough. That is until you figure out that red foot soldiers cannot block the shoulder-charge attack.
I used to play TMNT IV with my brother on the hardest difficulty setting all the time. Once you memorize the enemy spawn locations and boss patterns, it isn't too tough.
So I had pre-ordered the Daemon X Machina Hori Joycon controller, but today's release date and...no shipment date set from Amazon. And now they're listed as unavailable. Speaking to a rep, they said it simply hadn't arrived at the fulfillment center, but I'm not holding my breath. Wouldn't be the first time Amazon has screwed something like this up, and probably won't be the last.
That's weird because they charged me and set a ship date.. it's supposed to arrive on the 17th.

Yeah it's still showing me "We will email you when we have an arrival date". I reminded myself that originally it showed the release date as October and I should think of it getting here any earlier than that as a bonus.
I still haven't even beaten Rorona. I have at least 4 Atelier games on my Switch already. And of course I will buy these. What are these devs doing to me????!?!?!?!?

Amazon.ca is telling me that the release date for this controller is the 20th.
If I hadn’t just ordered one of those grip cases linked earlier, I would totally buy this controller. I’ve been starting to use the Switch undocked a little more and I quite like it, but my hands are too big and the joycons too small.

Two things:
A) Blasphemous is the cat’s veritable pyjamas in both handheld and docked mode.
2: is the FF8 remaster worth it if I can already play it on the Vita? Keep in mind that the Vita is hard on my ancient and twisted hands.
Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
I try not to double dip but we have Xbox Game Pass and I tried Dead Cells on it today. Now all I can think about is how great that game would be handheld. I mean, technically I didn't buy it on Xbox, that counts, right?
FF8 remaster is literally the original PC version with the PSX music, much improved main character models only, and a blur filter on the backgrounds. Calling it a remaster is generous. The resolution will be much higher over the emulated PSX though.

Blasphemous wasn't on my radar but after watching this long detailed review, I think I'm in.
Blasphemous is very good. One of the bosses had a little too much going on during it that made it kind of bad, but the rest of the game so far is pretty aces.
It's definitely a weird game. It certainly feels great zipping around in the mech. I'm accumulating a lot of parts, but I haven't quite worked out the loop for upgrading and specialising my play style. I'm assuming at some point I can customise some wildly different robots. Early on I'm just flying around shooting two machine guns and spamming my rockets every now and again. I think I can get a sniper rifle now, so I'll try that out.

This game is awesome, everything I wanted from an Armored Core successor. The fast action and fun from the PSX originals, meets the freedom of flight from later games, with much more detailed, multi-layered environments (though not in that particular desert).
The storytelling is more or less shounen anime silliness. It's more comprehensible and entertaining than the "Dark Souls minus the payoff" storytelling we had in Armored Core, so I'm fine with it.
I feel the loot mechanic is a great move. Instead of grinding credits and buying most of the cool mech parts, you fight for most of them. The money you get generally pays for upgrades and customization. It's a lot more satisfying.
Is the current Daemon X Machina demo comparable to the actual game?
I haven't played it, but from my understanding it's the first few missions from the main game and when you finish it you can transfer the save to the full game.

I actually think in some ways the older demo was more representative? The old demo I felt had a wider variety of weapons and enemies, including a giant boss which capped off the experience. The newer demo seemed have to have a more limited range of missions, equipment and enemies.
I finally got to sit down with it and play past the current demo tonight. Got to the reworked "boss" mission from the older demo in fact. And played past the defense mission that had been in the older demo, but not the newer demo, as well. Enjoying it greatly so far, but I'm looking forward to finding some of the more fun equipment I'd previously found much earlier in the old demo. Like a bazooka.
It feels like it's so rarely we get a giant robot game with even a hint of a simulator basis. Might as well be playing a typical quake style FPS for most of them. I like my giant robot games to handle more like Mechwarrior than Shogo. Daemon X Machina is still pretty arcadey in most regards, but it has enough to it that I'll take what I can get. At least until Mechwarrior 5 comes out... if it's any good.

I’ve given the demo a try and I quite enjoyed it.
It’s a good thing next month is a triple paycheque month.
Garry: I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of the winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!
My kids (bless their wee hearts) found some Lego Dimensions stuff in a clearance bin somewhere and got it for my birthday, so I’m now re-downloading the updates on my Wii U and Jesus I’d forgotten how ridiculously slow this console downloads. Started tonight and might be ready to play tomorrow night.
Look if there's something all the TMNT games should delete is that stupid Shredder deMutant gun. Like why the hell have a one hit kill move in a place where you're often down to a few lives is beyond shitty.
That's quarter-muncher mentality for you -- they were designed to make you spend as many quarters as possible, even the ones that didn't take quarters.
It's a real bummer there aren't more options for Joy-Con grips. I was hoping for a variety of colors and printed graphics. There's a few I like but they're mostly out of print and rare as far as I can tell.
What I want is a shell that's like the Wii U GamePad that the Switch can slide into. More comfortable to my hands, and feels like I can drop it without breaking the whole thing.
On another topic here: I love and miss my copy of the original Wizards & Warriors so much. I really wish a collection of all four games would be released, but apparently the rights are kind of tricky...
On another note: Anyone else played the Contra: Rogue Corps demo?

I think your enjoyment of DxM has a lot to do if you're obsessed with giant anime robots or not.
I am, so of course this is one of my most anticipated games of the year. For most people I think it'll just be a neat experience but nothing special. A discount buy, so to speak.
Speaking of, how awesome would Battletech be on the Switch? Or a Mechwarrior Online-esque game where you use the joycon motion controls to control the arms and torso?

Rare was all about the smooth engines with subpixel movements, acceleration/deceleration, good physics.
EDIT: Camera less smooth than I remembered, but yeah everything is very floaty and acceleration-based.
